I can’t believe this. I decided to perform my own oil change on my 2610H instead of taking it back to the dealer. The last time I took it in, they had it for two weeks just to complete a service, and when I got it back, there were globs of grease all over the hood. I got all my supplies from the dealer, but I don’t know what they used to secure the drain plug last time, as I can't get it to break free. I don’t want to use a cheater bar or an impact wrench because I’m worried about damaging the oil pan or the drain plug. I started with a regular wrench, then moved to a ratchet, and finally, I got out my 1/2 drive ratchet with a 20-inch handle, but I still can't get it to loosen. This is frustrating! I hope that once I finally break it free, the oil filter isn’t tightened the same way.

Is it supposed to have a copper crush washer on it? If so, they may have left it off and used an impact wrench on it to seal. Use more power! One way or the other, it has to come out.

.....and if you have one, use a 6-point socket so you reduce the chance of rounding off the drain bolt head.

Are you attempting to turn the nut CCW? Take that 6 pt socket and a 2# hammer and whack the end of the bar....breaker bar preferred over regular socket adjustable wrench as they are made for tough jobs and have no moving parts to break other than the fact that you can twist the tip in 3 directions.

When I was dating my wife her mother had her oil changed and got her car back with a leaking pan nut.....had to lift the engine to get the pan off and install a new pan. Don't know who paid for that but knowing her, I'd bet the oil change business paid the bill.

I have never had a pan bolt come loose and I snug them up good and with the palm of my hand give the end of the wrench a whack....usually reusing the collapsible washer....never had a leak on any pan......and never had a problem getting them out.

As Texasmark says, make sure you are going in the correct direction
