Since my machine sat around so long on display at the dealer and sat mostly outdoors, I did the first oil change on it's little Korean made Yanmar 3TNM74F today with 10hrs on it. I had done my research so I was prepared with one of those 3-jaw filter removers you use a 3/8" ratchet handle on. The filter came off fairly easily, as did the 14mm oil pan drain plug. The factory filter had no markings on it. The internal media can did, but it's worthless from a forensics standpoint. Very nice quality filter. There was some glitter in the bottom of the can as you'd expect on a brand new engine and there was some metal particles in the pleats, but it had mostly weird little paint flecks and whatnot in there. You'll see in the pics what replacement filter I went with. I have these on hand for some Nissans I service and have cut them open in the past as well.
