2538 engine leaking air around injector ?

I have a 2538 with 160hrs, i was using it the other day in low range backing up a hill to rake down it when I hear air an puffing sound, i popped hood and i see air/hear "puffing" from what i believe is where fuel injector goes into top if cylinder and i think its the glow plug there also, i took to the dealership and dropped it off but havent heard anything yet, any ideas, sorry for the bad picture but there was also a alittle bit of oil around it

It doesn't use regular glow plugs. It has a heater grid (if thats what its called). The system runs sky high fuel pressure like 20,000+ psi. I would think that sound is a tiny amount of fuel escaping from a loose connection. Please update when its fixed.

That's a shame.. its about a 10.00 fix but your gonna get charge over a grand from the dealer..
It seals w/ a copper gasket & some orings for dust seals.. they're gonna tell you, you needed a NEW injector & they're gonna hit you w/ 4-5 hrs of labor..
You can PLAINLY SEE it has 1 fuel line, an electrical clip & is held down w/ an Allen screw.. 30 minutes tops..
You'll be VERY LUCKY if they don't tell you, you need a NEW cylinder head..
OR they might cover the whole thing under warranty..Lol

It would be nice if warranty covers it, thats why i bought a used but newer tractor to have some while still having 2 yr warranty, but i'd probably be happy if it still cost me only $1000, i bought this tractor used and cant afford any super expensive repairs, would this copper seal just be defective or worn out that may of caused it to fail or could there be a bigger issue

The thought crossed my mind of a leak coming from around the injector gasket but I didn't think quality control could be that sloppy.

Another TYM with an issue. Mahindra really needs to rethink the partners they're using for re-badging units.

Yep same Mahindra engines in the 2500 series TYM machines and 1500 series Mitsubishi built machines.

And the fuel system and electricals are all Bosch. So that’s a pretty good partnership. Wondering if the OP got his problem resolved?

I was going to post about the warranty if your dealer did not cover it. The coverage is better and longer for the emission system parts on the engine. :thumbsup:

Where can that information be found in the warranty paperwork you get with a tractor, I looked the entire booklet over and saw nothing? Most people have no idea the emission system is a different warranty period than the rest of the tractor. I just found this out myself and it is three weeks to late for me..

Not sure where that information is located. I'm guessing in the policy and procedure manual. I would rattle your dealer about it if you had to pay. They should have known. If you have a Mahindra tractor you are talking about ask you dealer to get the DSM involved. That's why its important to choose a good dealer.:confused3:

It's a Massey.. They are dying to find out what is wrong with my Denzo injector pump with 200 hours on it.. The dealer calls me daily and Agco as well. Pretty impressive to tell the truth, the pump is in SC and Mike is looking into the problem, will see what happens..
