Kioti DK55 Fordson Power Major
Found a 2014 KIOTI DK55 190hrs, canopy, dual rear remotes and loaded tires. Asking 23K.
May be able to them down a 1k or2K.

Any known problems with the DK55's?

Should I jump on this?

Thanks for any and all input.

Nice looking tractor. Do they have maintenance records on it? Why are they selling it? Is it a shuttle shift or HST?
What are you planning to use it for?
I don't know of any issues in particular for that model/year. Others may be able to better address the question.
You're going to buy it from Tractor House? What can they tell you about it's ownership? Have you seen it, driven it personally?

Looks like a pretty stout tractor, 55 HP 45HP on the PTO, Transmission is synchronized 12x12 shuttle.

Shuttle shift, don't think they made a DK55 hydro. Haven't seen it personally yet, it's about 3 hrs away, want to make sure it's worth the trip. It's a lot closer than most I've been looking at. It's at a non Kioti dealer. I'll call them Monday and ask some questions.

This will be replacing my '58 Fordson Power Major. I have 90 acres of mixed woods and fields that need a lot of attention. Downed trees to get out for firewood, trails to maintain, fields to bush hog and will be pushing some snow. Plan on getting a grapple and a backhoe. I have a set of plows and discs I want to use for putting in feed plots. After using the Fordson for the last 20yrs, I'm getting tired...it's pretty much useless in the winter.

I've looked at the new NX's and got some quotes. Just don't think I want to deal with the new emission controls. Plus, all the nice standard features of the DK's are now options on the NX's. At this price I might be able to afford my backhoe sooner, rather than later.

Oh, and a small pond...

Looks good to me, but I'm pretty sure it's not a 2014, as that would make it Tier 4, and there ain't no such animal. Doesn't matter a whole lot, but it's likely a 2013. Even my CK new had the advertised year messed up, but the SN doesn't lie.

What is the serial # ???

TJP89 is right, the serial # determines date of MANUFACTURE. Often tractors, and boats are sold as the year they're bought, but that is not entirely accurate, nor intentionally deceptive, especially when a place like Tractorhouse is selling the tractor. It's a common error that can mislead a buyer into thinking they are buying recent or new used stock. So to know for sure post the # and we will decifer it for you.

Thanks for the info guys.
Serial # is M06800159 according to the dealer.
From what I could find out, it's a 2012.
Are Kioti warrantys transferable? They didn't know, being a non Kioti dealer. I have a call into kioti. According to the website, warranty is from date of sale, not date of manufacturer, I hope.

Dealer said it was traded in for a bigger/higher horsepower tractor.

I believe M is 2012. Mine is a K which is a 2010.

Think you're right on the year. Warranties are transferable I think, and are form date of sale.

Original date of sale, NOT secondary sale date, which is what you would be buying. So if six months remained on the 4 year warranty, you'd get that ONLY. Check out Kioti's web site for detailed warranty data, on machines sold at that time, 2012. The warranty details change from time to time so make sure you get the relevant details.
Date you may purchase it on is irrelevant, EXCEPT for remaining warranty period, ASSUMING it's transferrable. See above about checking web site data.

Coyote machine, understood. That's why I'm hoping the original owner purchased it in 2014 and it's transferable, that would give me until 2018. Maybe that's why they're calling it a 2014 tractor?
I will get further details.

Thanks

HEPAman,
No problem. They're probably calling it a 2014 since the original owner bought it then. We know it's a 2012 model, sold in 2014, so effectively the warranty began on date of sale to first retail buyer.

Here's the link to the most recent TRANSFERRABLE Kioti tractor warranty.

BTW, it's NOT forbidden, it will link....

Just got a response from Kioti (pretty quick). They confirmed the warranty is transferable and does begin on the date of sale.
Will probably go see the tractor Wednesday.

Put a deposit on it, hopefully get it home withinin the next week or two. Heading to Indiana right now, to visit my son.

The tractor is very clean! Previous owner was an older gentleman (I should talk) that used it to push snow. He decided after last winter, he needed a cab Talked to the original selling dealership, all scheduled maintenance was performed, as well as a factory update for hard gear shifting(?). Of course he tried selling me a new machine over the phone. I figure the money I'm saving will go toward stuff I need (want!) BH, TNT, grapple, tiller, box blade, new rotary cutter, and so on...
I know I'm not saving that much $$$...

Now I need to find someone to truck it up here. My neighbor was to help me, but as fate would have it, his truck developed issues yesterday. I don’t trust my old F250 pulling 8k lbs 400 miles.

May give "Uship.com" a try, anybody use this service?

I know a member here (Eric the Oracle) pulls his NX6010 Cab HST with all features, loaded tires, and brushhog with his F150 up and down MN, I think the total is about 10,000lbs. Unless your 250 has major problems, I wouldn't worry about it. I wouldn't hesitate to haul it with my suburban, which I believe has less capacity then your truck.

HEPAman, I have used u-ship several times having motorcycles shipped. I had very good luck and if you are patient and let the bidding go a while you can usually get a great deal.

Yeah, my F250 is hurtin'. Used mostly as a field truck or to pick something up locally or go to the dump.

I'll give uship a go.
