I have a 2008 KUBOTA BX24 that I recently had serviced. The hour meter worked when I took it in. They delivered it back and now the hour meter is all a bunch of numbers not giving a true reading? Like just a bunch of random numbers. So I told them take it back. I had checked out on line that the whole dash has to be replaced when the hour meter goes bad. Is the hour meter bad now? It worked when I took it in? I checked with a couple of dealerships and found out the dash for my tractor is now not available anymore. But there is a replacement dash that has to be used with a special adapter. Total parts is almost $600!!! Is there a better solution that's not so rough on the pocket book? Or a differant hour that can be used? Please help here. This is frustrating.

Maybe try disconnecting the battery for 5 min to allow it to reset? 
The dealership did put in a new battery in as part of my service I had done. Shouldn't they suposedly know that if that is the answer?Maybe try disconnecting the battery for 5 min to allow it to reset?

I’d would guess unless they were messing with the dash it’s just a coincidence it went bad. I’m sure there is a way to add an hour meter as a separate gauge but I don’t know how exactly to wire it up.

An option is to Wire a 12 vdc hour meter to a power source that only has power when engine is running like fuel shut off solenoid.
