2 Inch Receiver On PT422 probably 425

These hitches are very handy two weeks ago I orderd a two inch hitch with a 48 inch reciever tube along with a ripper claw. I am working on a ripper for use in digging holes pulling up rocks and tree stumps.

Nice job there Bob, wish I had a welder and the ability to weld.

I plan to order an electric winch for mine and other interchangeable attachments for it. Since I don't have a welder, I plan to attach everything to my forks. Hopefully a few bolts on and off.

Hopefully this is my last set of pictures for this attachment. I expect everybody is getting tired of the updates.

I noticed a little tilt. Other than that it looks good. I had some friends stand on it to demonstrate its strength. Their total weight is about 330 pounds. I cut their heads off because that would have been too much weight. I also put my 250 pounds on one side (not at the same time as theirs) and there was very little give.

Thanks for all of the interest, support, and advice. This make for a much better attachment.

Is that your Trans in the garage or is that a Firebird? I had the 99 Trans- AM pewter, with black convertable top. The wife had a 99 Firebird same color as the one in your garage. Loved that car.

It belongs to a nephew's friend. I am letting him use my lift and tools to change the exhaust system.

I think you could be this 2 inch receiver with bolts instead of welding.

I figured it is time for an update. I added two more bolts near the middle of the angle irons. This is probably not needed, but it was easy. Notice that they are installed where the metal web is located, not where Power Trac had cut out slots. I think this is important. I am now comfortable with this change and will probably not need to take it off very often, so a couple of extra bolts is no big deal.

I installed the carrier and bounced up and down on it with my body weight. The tires flexed, but nothing else did. The carrier is designed for 500 pounds. I don't plan to carry that much on it. I think this will be useful when I move firewood around the property. I can put some in the bucket and some on the carrier. It also could be used to carry an extra attachment or other stuff to the back of the propery.

Since the pin receiver is covered with the 2 inch receiver, I decided to make a 2 inch receiver to pin receiver adapter. Here it is shown ready to paint. I will use this to pull a small trailer or fertilizer.

I did an untentional modification to my bumper today when a tree got between the rear wheel and the bumper. I ended up breaking off one end of the bumper. The metal was not damaged and I guess. I should be happy because that was the idea. The wood bumper breaks and not the metal. I have made a new wooden piece and it is only 29 inches long so it only sticks out 3.5 inches past the PT body. The old one stuck out eleven inches, even with the wheel. I have attached a picture of the broken bumper. The new one is in the paint drying booth which looks a lot like my garage. Lession - Don't stick things out to far or they can get broken off.

What do you commonly use that strap winch on the bumper for?

I use to get it unstuck in the mud around here. I can put a D shackle through the hole under and behind the weights and I attach the winch to a tree with some short straps. Or, I could take the weights off of the 2 inch receiver (this takes a few minutes) and put the winch 2 inch tube in the receiver and connect the strap to a tree.
The winch has about the right capacity (4000 pounds) and a long pulling length to get the PT out of the mud. I can also raise the winch or strap to about 5 or 6 feet up on the tree to create lift as well as pull. I found this lifting is vital when the PT is a foot or more down in the mud.
