Just wanted to say HI, 1st time on the board and just bought my 1st JD tractor. I have about a 1 mile dirt/gravel road to get to the county maintained gravel road plus a horseshoe gravel drive about 800 feet long. I didn't get any other attatchments with it but have a rear 3pt snow blower already and am looking for a good rear blade.

John Deere 3520
FEL 300CX W/ Grill guard & bucket level indicator
61" heavy duty bucket w/ tooth bar
Telescoping Draft links
Mid PTO
Front/Rrear Work Lights With Brush Guards
R4 Tires (rear Loaded)
3rd Selective Control Vavle

Should pick up June 11th! I am excited and can't wait.

Thanks for all the helpful links and posts.

Hello bferris and welcome to TBN:)
I know there are other brands, but the JD rear blades are some of the best built on the market. They may be a bit pricey, but well worth the cost. Oh,the color matches the tractor too.:D
Hope you enjoy your new tractor and please post some pictures.

Welcome bferris! Congrats on your new Deere, hope it serves you well. Watch these folks on here though, because your spending has just begun if you hang out here long LOL! Jokes aside, there is a wealth of info on here that folks share freely - they sure have helped me out and continue to.

Welcome BF, good luck with the 3520, great machine! You just ordered it and it will be in on the 11th? Wow, they gave me a July 22 date for my 3320 and I bought it in the middle of may!

Whatever you do, don't let them hold up delivery of the tractor over a HD bucket and tooth bar; I had mine delivered with the regular bucket so I wasn't without a tractor while waiting on the HD bucket & replaceable cutting edge; it took 4 weeks for the HD bucket & cutting edge to come in but in the meantime the dealer told me to use the standard bucket and they would deliver the HD & edge when it came in. I was told anything that has to do with the loaders comes out of Mexico now (both of mine, 5' and 6', still say canada on them), which sometimes causes a delay in delivery. The dealer should deliver your tractor without having to wait on the HD bucket though, they will just turn around and sell the regular one as a used bucket when yours comes in, just tell them you use your tractor all of the time, and can't be without one for any amount of time.

Congrats on the new rig. You certainly have a task for it.!!....

With that much driveway I would sell the 3pt blower and get a big one up front.

Hey, just trying to spend some of your money to help ya out.!!

Congratulations on the new 3520. Like I always say, work will seem more like play with a nice rig like that. Enjoy.

Quick question for those with the expirence. I am looking at possibly getting a dump trailer to do double duty, move tractor around on occasion and get mulch and gravel and wood mostly. I have a slight lenght restriction due to a turn on my road into my place, but will my JD 3520 with 300 CX FEL fit on a 6x12 dump trailer?

Any recommendations for trailer places around Winchester VA, or Capon Bridge WV (22611 or 26711 ZIP)

Thanks

I'll try to remember to measure my tractor tomorrow and let you know what the length is with the loader attached. The main concern on that size trailer would be where the center of your load winds up being; too far to the rear, not good; too far to the front, not good either. Most dump trailers that size are at least 10,000lb trailers (I've seen 12'ers up to 14,000lbs) which is more than adeqate for your tractor which should be just under 5000lbs with filled tires.
You may want to pick up a Valley Trader magazine, there are usually trailer dealers advertisements in it. One way to get the weight center to balance out a bit is to play around with how you put the machine in the trailer i.e. backed in, vs. pulled in, bucket up & off the front or rear a little (provided the trailer has added side/front height to get everything above your pick-up, provided thats what you'll be using to tow the trailer) etc. I would try to find a way to allow the loader to rest on the trailer (extended) rails if that is the route you choose, just remember to check that everything clears the tow vehicle when making turns.
Also, if you must have the loader outside of the actual trailer, make sure you take the steps to make the loader "not quick attach capeable", there is instructions on how to do this in the owners manual; it's pretty easy to do. Enjoy the new machine.

Thanks for the tips!

I called the dealer again today in hopes of moving things along and the bucket is in and mounted and the toothbar is supposed to be in 1st of the week! So mid week or end of the week should be parking it in my barn!!!!!

Way to go! I just picked up my 3520 last week. Ordered back Feb 15, was promised May 1st, like I said above Just got my on 6-3-10, Was WORTH the wait. Aready put 11hrs on it and going home to mow grass again tonight, Also the I-match is a very handy opt. to have I found. Good like on the new tractor. Had two problems with my already the deck cyl bleeds off and the 3pt jump up and drifts off, I think its just air in the hyd system, Talked with the dealer and it goes back next week for the deck problem, thier going the install and new cyl, Want to hear more about your tractor when you get it

SSSWWWWEEEEETTTTT!!!

Just got an email and I am going to pick up on Wednesday (as long as buddy trailer is free)!!!!!!!!!!!

The down side is it will have to set for 48 hours after that I am at work with out being used!!! ;)

Did you get a shop/tech manual with yours? I didn't and am wondering if that is something worth it or if I should just find someone that did and maybe split the cost with them for a copy of it?

Brian

Not sure how I will sleep tonight!

Well, by now you probably already know how long the tractor is, but I finally remembered to measure mine; 13' 8" from front edge of bucket (bucket level on the ground) to the rear of the 3 pt lift arms at the level position. Enjoy your new tractor.
