I have been working on a redesign of the loader valve on the first design BX tractors, so it will stay with the tractor when the loader is removed. The design that I am contemplating has the loader valve being relocated about 2" rearward, but it will remain at the same angle as original. The reason for this is so the loader valve hydraulic hoses will not come into conflict with the right hand loader stanchion. My question is, "how often do you exit the tractor on the right hand side?" Do you think that the "inconvenience" of only being able to exit the tractor on the left outweighs the convenience of having the loader valve stay attached to the tractor at all times?
So far, I know that the right hand stanchion will need to be replaced with a new one that looks exactly like the left one. There are 2 short hoses that will need to be replaced because the hose ends are not oriented properly. I am not certain if the "adapter" will need to be welded on, or will be able to be bolted onto the tractor.
Final question....... would you consider the purchase of the parts necessary to make this adaption to your tractor, if it were available in kit form? I know that a lot will have to do with the final cost, but please disregard cost for the time being. I am more interested in knowing how many people find the loader valve a nuisance when removing the loader and then putting the valve back onto the tractor. This project has been ongoing in my mind for over a year. I already have some drawings completed and now need to refine them. I am getting closer to the final stage of getting the prototype done and need your input.
I know that this has already been done by at least 2 others in the past. I am just trying to make a better troll trap.... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Junkman,

I think anyone with a front mounted snowblower or front blade would love this. I would be interested depending on the $$. I never get off on the right side because of the deck being wider on that side and most times I have the chute in the up position to spread the grass clipping better.

I was thinking of adding another valve just for the blower that I can use in the winter. A 3rd party valve was about $100 plus adding some kind of devise to hold it onto the tractor, plus hoses.

Let me know if you get this done.

I seldom take my FEL off but would like your system to have use of the remote. Since I don't have or need front equipment, it would be of less use for me.

In my situation, I will likely buy a rear remote. I would think folks in your area would be thrilled with your system.

Junk,

I have never seen the first design loader valve. With that in mind, why couldn't you retro fit the second design? Or is the valve completely different?

Note: I have the second design and can get out the right hand side with it but seldom do. The left has just become habit.

I get on and off from both sides. I think it is just a matter of what your use to and could change if the joystick is in the way. The reason that I would want this is that sometimes I store the loader on a bare slab with no protection from the elements and would prefer that the valve stay with the tractor inside my storage shed. I would consider purchasing a reasonable priced kit. I could even be one of your beta test sites /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Junk, I have the "new" type valve that stays with the tractor, so in my use I can say that I hardly ever get off and on the tractor on the right side. I could count the number of times on one hand. It's just a habit now to go to the left side. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

when the loader is off and I need to prep the tractor for the snowblower, I just pull the two pivot pins on the loader and lift the controller back to the subframe on the 2200. Once installing the mount pin, it can ride there, connected to or disconnected from the hydraulic lines.
I really don't see it as being that much work and I like having the controller out of the way when mowing.
I suppose if I needed to change implements all the time, it might be of greater concern, but for me, the 2200 setup is already ideal.

I know a few people already made these mods before here is one Relocate

Pretty simple and the cost is as little as a few new hoses, this guy went and got a different loader upright to make it better. I know there was one other guy who did something similar quite a while back.

Thanks for finding that post. I had the pictures of that one, but didn't remember which post they were from. I am working on a variation of that design. He did a great job with the changes and like everything on TBN, there is always someone that will try to take it to the next level. I don't know if my changes will be a improvement until I make them, but hopefully they will simplify the process for me.

Junk,
Just spotted this thread and would like to be kept in the loop as you progress. I found last winter there wasn't much extra effort in remounting the valve after removing the loader, BUT, this spring, getting everything lined back up was time-consuming and aggravating. Seemed like trying to get the planets to align perfectly without the use of gravity. If you come up with a reasonably priced kit to reduce my blood pressure, I'd be interested.

Junkman,

Here a photo of the curtis cab that you where looking for, on the other tread. I've got a bracket welded to the tractor to hold the valve on the tractor, which I use for the blower in the winter.

Hope this helps...
