Oil & Fuel 1992 diesel

   / 1992 diesel #11
Heating oil is Ultra Low Sulphur as is diesel fuel. Nothing different except the tax structure, additives mixed at the distribution point and dye if we are comparing on-road fuel. Off-road dyed fuel is identical to HHO except for any additive package chosen by the fuel distributor.

Rick is that a "national" thing, or may it be different in the various regions of the country?

Removal of the sulfur was an emissions issue. Sulfur, as I understand it, doesn't provide the lubricity. It's the process of removing sulfur that degrades the lubricity of current diesel. Early diesel units were designed to tolerances that assumed an existing lubricity. I use TC-W3 at 100 to 1 to compensate in my "darn thing won't die like all the others" 1994 6.5 TD engine.

I have never added anything to my 1989 John Deere, didn't add anything to the tractor before that either.

Re: Ford 1720 1992 diesel

I also use TC-W3 (the cheap stuff from Wally World). In fact, I use it in the fuel in every Diesel engine I own and have never had a problem. Every once in a while, I will skip the 2 cycle oil and use the diesel Kleen in the grey bottle. That stuff is amazing for cleaning injectors.
