One little technique I have found personally helpful... not necessarily for this case as it sounds the Dealer isn't the problem.
The technique is to say in a clear voice... Do I understand correctly there is nothing you can or will do to help and then note the date, time and person name/position. When they ask what is this all about simply say you don't want there to be any misunderstanding as to why you went to corporate or filed a lawsuit.
Two things generally happen... that person finds a way to help or brings in someone with more authourity...
In cases of bait and switch I have the complaint form from the District Attorney and start filling it out right in the store... just to make sure I have the spelling of all the names and titles correct.
