Yes, the back portion of the top was taken off the tractor the first few repair attempts.
I was wrong. After obtaining copies of my warranty claims, there have been a total of 18 claims. Probably 6-10 of these are AC related. Others have been smaller issues resolved by Deere; but issues none the less. The latest is a revolving type scrubbing noise consistent with the engine rpm's. You can hear it when inside the cab and when outside the cab when standing behind the pto. It seems to be coming from directly under the cab and occurs when the tractor is in park.
The tech stated it was typical engine noise. The service manager said, no it's not normal because it recently began. Therefore, the service manager picked up the tractor and transported it to their shop to further evaluate the noise and AC issue. I may be wrong, but I believe the local dealer is doing what they can to help me extend the warranty and try to resolve the issues I am having.
The local dealer claims the extended warranty issue is out of their hands at this point and is completely up to the discretion of deere and the regional rep. They agree there have been way too many warranty issues with this tractor. I would like to believe they are sincere and are empathizing with me.
I spoke with 4-5 different attorneys last week. All agreed that Deere has a problem with this particular scenario. Mississippi's lemon law may not cover tractors, but there are federal laws/acts that do. All recommended, if I didn't mind fronting some money, to obtain the extended warranty asap since my current warranty is about to expire so that I will be protected until a final resolution can be reached. I did that Friday.
All the attorneys felt that my free extended warranty request was extremely reasonable, and all of them felt that JD's refusal to be reasonable was a significant error. Several offered to take the case. The attorney I retained is very experienced in this area. We shall see what happens.
