Oil & Fuel 1538 filter part numbers.

I don't know about your hydraulics but on my gear tractor the hydraulic filter is low pressure as it's in the pump return line. The most pressure you could possibly ever get in a return line is one atmosphere or about 15 PSI tops. Even that would take some doing and it would be vacuum or crushing not pressure outwards.

You are correct. The gear drive uses one hydraulic filter and is the part number you found above. The HSTs have a second filter that is the special high pressure one.

So on a HST it's one regular hydraulic filter and one special HST filter.

Mahindra Filters

Fuel 1 - 001081778R93 , Napa 3993 , Wix 33393
Fuel 2 - E006018618D1 , Bosch F 002 H22 025

The first part numbers are factory numbers. From the pictures I've seen online it appears the hydraulic filters are Mitsubishi filters. And as stated the "main" fuel filter is a Bosch.

Yes, this is an old thread. If necessary, I'll start a new one. But, first, what seems to be an error needs to be corrected here.

The Wix number (33393) appears to be a typo - I believe the correct number for the Wix filter, that is shown as a cross for Fuel 1 above, is 33993.

Now, for the better news and "free" shipping:

Fuel 1 is available in a 2 pack for $13.50 delivered. See:

FUEL FILTERS SECONDARY SET = (2 Secondary filters) - Reubicon International Inc.

And, these do appear to be OEM Mahindra parts in factory boxes based on the photo.

In addition, after you place an order with Reubicon, you should receive an offer for an automatic 7% discount on your next order placed within 60 days. However, you should wait until you receive the "Welcome" email and use the included link to create a password, THEN place the second order.

I placed a second order for Fuel 2:

MAHINDRA TRACTOR FUEL FILTER - Reubicon International Inc.

At 7% off, Fuel 2 works out to be $43.71 delivered.

This also appears to be the same filter Mahindra supplies ACCORDING to web reports. I have not verified this directly.

As a bonus, the discount allowed me to avoid doing business with this same company via the ubiquitous jungle website run by that alt-left, Washington Post guy. If any of you wish to do business there, be my guest but I only use them as the last resort of last resorts. Plus, ordering direct from Reubicon saves you a bit if its your second order. AND, there's no sales tax involved unlike with the jungle company. At least, that's my experience.

Anyone find better pricing or have a different experience?

I'm still in process of checking if 1538 filters fit 1533. We'll see soon I'm gathering stuff now to do complete change at 300hrs. Cross fingers.

It seems to me that you could get more than 1 bar in a return line (whether it's merely the discharge from cylinders, a relief valve, or the end of the open-center circuit. Certainly the suction or feed line has that limitation. It seems to me you could get a couple thousand PSI, if the filter was blocked. Of course, the filter won't be blocked, because it could potentially have high pressure to push oil through (unless something coagulated the oil.)

As an update on the filter order from Reubicon - I got a Priority Mail shipping notice this morning for the orders I placed last night.

So, they seem to be on the ball. Their communication is very good, by the way. They also have some parts for other Mahindras if you have a different model.

It would have to be on h e l l of a blockage. That much pressure on a regular filter would likely blow the guts out of the filter and into the return tank.

The filters from Reubicon are Bosch filters. At least, they are in Bosch boxes with Made in India labels. That should satisfy the purist among us! They arrived today. So, less than 3 days from order to delivery.

Interestingly, Fuel 1 - the paper filter, came to me as a Bosch 9 451 037 407 from Reubicon. And, that filter, according to a web search, has been around for decades - Like 1960s and 1970s Mercedes in addition to Deutz, Dodge, Daewoo, IHC, Komatsu, Volvo products and even LAMBORGHINI tractors.

All of the above is dependent, of course, on the Fuel 1 filters I received being appropriate for our tractors. They appear to be identical to the web site photo but in Bosch (India) boxes and not the Mahindra boxes pictured on the web site.

This filter crosses to a Wix 33167.

http://www.wixfilters.com/Lookup/Competitor.aspx?PartNo=9451037407

If you click on the 33167 link on that page, you can then click on the All Applications link on the second page in order to see the dozens of engines this filter has been used on.

The Fuel 2 filter looks just like all of the other Bosch F 002 H22 025 filters I've seen elsewhere. And, why shouldn't it - That's what it is. The part number on the box has a suffix of 8F8. No idea what that means. However, that suffix seems to be fairly common on Bosch filters based on a web search. The boxes on both types indicate they were made in 2015.

OK, this swamp is officially drained - I'm outta wudder . . . A little Philly/Unabomber lingo fer ya!
