12 volt pump to lift farm implements question

Yes, I'll need to check on the bale bed fluid before going forward with that idea. Good point, also made by Aaron. I know the bed installer mentioned using one type over the other, but can't remember right now which he used.

This seemed to be the best thread to take off on; if this board prefers a new thread in such cases please advise.

...there appears to be a second hole on the rear hyd mount below/behind the knotch. I'd suspect that will line up with another hole for the transport pin...

Farm Boy - I stand corrected. I took a closer look and found a hole in the chisel frame that lines up with the second hole you mentioned, and a similar setup on the disc. I just need to figure out how to get those holes aligned w/o hydraulic power.

I'm considering taking my small backhoe out there (it will fit on my 16' utility trailer). I believe I can lift one end of the chisel and disc enough to drop the wheels so the transport holes will align. I can also just lift the plow with the FEL and set it on the trailer. May take a few more trips to get it all back home, but doable.

Do you have a Hi-Lift jack and something to block the frame with?

A shop crane/engine hoist in the pickup bed, chained to the gooseneck hitch is what I have used for similar situations.

You might be able to load them on the trailer, then hook on and bring them home.

Gin Poles and a big come-along would also work to load them on the trailer.29777d558d96481.jpg GinPoleBox.jpg 1957.International.R-200.detail.rigging.jpg

I have been in this predicament before, I always thought a portable pump of some sort would be handy to have around. I was thinking something like this, 12 Volt DC Hydraulic Pump Double Acting Dump Trailer | eBay, could be used with a 12v booster pack or cables off the tow vehicle. Recently lost the hydraulics in my mowing tractor, try to lift the cutter head on a mower conditioner without hydraulics, a hi-lift aint gonna do it, been there done that.

Did this project ever work out HCJtractor, curious how you made out.

That's essentially the elec/hyd unit that is powering my bale bed, hence my initial inquiry. As has been stated, since the thing is powering two double-acting cylinders under the bed, it should be perfectly capable of powering other cylinders, assuming the fluids between the two systems are compatible.
