How do I get the little cap off the center of the front wheel on my 1969 JD 112? I need to change the tire, but I can't get that cap off! Tried a crowbar (with and without a hammer), penetrating oil, etc... even tried a puller but couldn't get the cap off far enough to get the puller on it.

What am I doing wrong? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Thanks in advance!

Try a large wide blade screwdriver between the cap and wheel hub. Just tap the screwdriver in the groove and give it a twist, the cap should pop right off. There is a special tool for this that looks like a large pair of pliers with inward facing jaws, but a screwdriver should work fine. If it looks rusty apply a little WD40 or PB Blaster and let it soak in for awhile. You can do it.
