i actually just measured it and that lip is 1/4" and the block in the mounting hole is only 1/8" deep. not sure what to try next. all of my research has shown that this starter is the one that fits this tractor...

thanks for that tip. i was able to hook it up to a battery and get it to fully retract. and now im frustrated because it still goes in the same. still looks like the lip is it too long and it goes in most of the way but hits the mounting so it doesn't let it go in fully. also the older one does...

thanks for the response. i noticed that it had a lip on it when it arrived. the lip hits the cowbell shaped thing inside of the mounting hole not allowing it to fully insert.

Bucket cylinders are on the sides of the tractor, lift cylinders are in front connected to the bucket I guess. I actually need the lift cylinders (front ones) but not finding anything matching...

looking for the rear axle oil level plug. found the transmission level plug and the hydraulic dipstick. i thought the rear level was going to be the plug on the back but I think the manual is saying it is the one on the side kind of behind the foot stand which takes a hex wrench to unscrew...

any suggestions on how to adjust tightness on one of these? looks like the big nut on the back can be tightened but its massive and probably a bit rusted together...

this is how it connects... just ran it with the cover off so i could see what was spinning and not spinning. the pto is definitly spinning on the input shaft. seems like if i just tighten it all up it should all spin together? would be a bear of a job though with all that rust

thanks for the reply, i just spun the blades by hand and it does spin the pto shaft. also spun it while someone was holding the shaft and it moved with the blades spinning
