    30 minutes may be a little brief,but an hour or a little more makes a big difference in starting. Don't forget block heaters have a design life. Also,don't forget to unplug the block heater before starting-the heating element is fragile when in use. Good Luck!

    I use copper anti-seize on spark plugs in aluminum heads. Although not as stellar as nickel,it would also work well in this application. Good Luck!

    B2781A is a much beefier unit. However it does have a #50 chain that doesn't require much adjustment. The subframe is not exactly the same,but imagine it could be made to work.     Bummer! Is he operating with heavy loads in that 724 loader? And perhaps with no or insufficient counter weight on the 3 point hitch to remove weight from the front axle? The LA724 is the bigger loader for that tractor,and overloading the front axle sounds real possible. Good Luck!

    The dynamo has two leads of the same color. Voltmeter on AC current,test leads on each wire. Doesn't matter which as you are measuring AC current. Voltage increases with RPM. To 30-40 volts??? Dynamo very reliable-only really hear of bearing failure on rather older models. Good Luck!

    As above by JWR,radiator should be full when cold and cap is removed. If it is full and tank is a little low,most likely some evaporation loss has occurred. Just add distilled water to the tank,to the full mark,and your concentration should be just right! Good Luck!

    TractorData.com lists 2014 as the last year for the L4600. Interim Tier 4,and indirect injection makes me guess it has the traditional mechanical injection system. Most likely would have some sort of EGR. Just my guess. Good Luck!

    That 3/4 x 16 thread is one of the very most common filters out there. Many different lengths and a smaller diameter as well. Guessing the 1058 is the NAPA number-for the smaller diameter,try 1348 for shorter length and 1516 for longer. Good Luck!

    FWIW,the F in 24F stands for Ford,as they used reversed terminals to the norm. 24F and 27F are/were common. Now,reverse terminal batteries end in R. Looking forward to the OE Group number as well. Good Luck!

    The OP must be confusing Grade 5 bolts by calling them Grade 3?-for 3 hash marks on the head. Grade 2 usually make lousy shear bolts because they seldom break cleanly and tend to help elongate the hole. Wonder what Erskine recommends?

    I've always been told maximum freeze protection is 2/3rds coolant-1/3rd water. However,the heat transfer ability of the coolant decreases as the percentage of AF/water increases. Lots of lake-effect here in the Tip of the Mitt!

    Coolant flush procedure issue

    May not apply to OP,but for cooling system maintenance with no other issues requiring flushing- Drain all you can and refill with 50/50 mix. Freeze point will be maintained with minimal fuss. Good Luck!

    I've got my distributor cam lube next to the dwell meter. Timing light and screw starters are in the tool chest. Try connecting the pickup to the coil wire for more flashes on the timing marks. Fun thread!

    Nice find! The information you need is in the loader manual,I think. I can look for mine if you don't have it. I recall seeing the cable operated valve in there. Also,the loader serial number is needed to order replacement cables. Good Luck!

    Coolant Volume Discrepancy When DraIning and Refilling the Coolant on L3240 HST

    If you have a well maintained cooling system,I have found draining and refilling with 50/50 coolant and distiller water is quite adequate and keeps the freeze point correct. YMMV!
