The weight is what helps in scraping up packed snow and ice. I’m doing a neighbors paved drive temporarily while he is recovering but my blower is set for my gravel drive that is still setting up a base. What a beast on pavement this could be with a simple adjustment.

The tread pattern clearly says they ain’t R-1 or 4. They are not turfs so what’s left? Fact is I like them for what surfaces I want to use the machine on.

Buy a zero turn if you are wanting to stripe your lawn. If you’re that **** on a lawn you don’t want that constant heavy machine traveling weekly on it anyway.

You’d be wrong. Bottoming taps were typically 3 or 4 flutes but I normally just ground off the lead as required on a 2.

As a former tool and die maker don’t use a 4 flute tap whenever possible. 2 flute machine taps are much more robust. #7 (.201) is the tap drill size.

I converted a 8’ Fisher to fit my old NH4835 at work. It was great for scraping the pavement bare with some down pressure but useless for snow due to lack of speed. It also worked well for winging back the snowbanks.

The Normand shown did not have the rear scraper blade. It’s optional and gravity run. However a hydro option is also available and that is what I bought.

I absolutely love them. Best all around tire for what I do. My drive is not paved but I don’t want chains. The R1’s it came with sucked. I had no interest in 4’s. My work machine (24 years or so) ran turfs and was paved so it’s not a direct comparison.

Normand Inverted 82” owner here. Before retiring had a 72” Provonost front unit on a larger frame same HP tractor. Night and day difference. The Normand is hands down the best attachment I own. Ya. Grade 5 minimum. Make sure the shoulder is smooth for both sides and that sometimes requires longer bolts. I haven’t broken a sheer bolt in a few years now. My PTO is hydro and it has a slow and smooth engagement.

Lawn blades are sharp. Brush hog blades start that way but don’t count on keeping that edge. I’ve bought at least a dozen sets of blades over the past 30 years cutting a field that contained a few “rocks”.

I replaced the gear box in a formally owned 2572 Land Pride with a factory replacement and never looked back. The unit had some seriously hard hours on it and I felt it was the best option. Friend’s son has it now. I don’t think he will be wearing it out in his lifetime.

I'm using a Greenlee Job Box. Fits 3 saws, oil, gas, helmet, straps, choker slings, snatch block and still has room to spare. With wheels it will roll right under my work bench when I get to building it.

So install a Fasie valve and have as many remotes as you can fit on the back.

Dealer oil is pretty cheap if you compare it to the cost of an engine. Once you start with a brand and type of oil you should not move away from it unless unavoidable. Mystik Oil is some of the best oil going IMO but Rotella ain't no slouch either.

I true dead center is fit into the headstock of a lathe. A live center is fit into the tailstock. If you want to turn a taper then you offset the tailstock. Of course this was before CNC machines. Our next class will cover centerless grinding. What did I win? LOL

Yes. I have a 72" Provonost and the loss of power is substantial and frankly a hindrance. I'd take my JD and the 84" Normand blower in any storm, any any conditions over the NH/Provonost arrangement any day. No questions asked. Both machines are 56 HP at the PTO and the NH is a larger frame.

You'd be wrong. My nearly 1000 pound blower can be adjusted to be as aggressive or as easy to scrape. I can also use the full weight of the blower on the rear scraper edge

The door gasket problem is easily solved with some clear silicone and painters tape to hold the gasket as the silicone cures. I have no idea why JD can't do this when they assemble the doors.
