Buying a trailer- choices

I need a trailer. A friend has a 16' car hauler type trailer- no rails, wood floor, ramps that store under the rear, bumper hitch and brakes. It's wide enough for a pickup. I've hauled my tractor and a full-size Bronco on it and really like it. Very well made also. One dilema- with the...

    baler fit on a trailer?

Does anyone know if an International model 46 baler will fit on a 16' flat-bed, car-hauler type tandem axle trailer? I'm concerned with the width. I'll be picking it up tomorrow. The owner is 7 hrs away and says it's 8' wide, but I find it hard to believe and can't call him until 7pm tonight...

    Loaded tires dilema

I have unloaded turf tires on my Kubota B2150. I mostly use the tractor for mowing my 3-acre lawn. When I bought the tractor, it came with loaded R-1 (ag) type tires. I use the R-1's for loader work. Also, the in-laws have a 150-acre "recreation" farm. Before I trailer my tractor there, I...

Rake Ground driven side delivery rake

I have 4 acres of lawn. We have a garden and many trees and shrubs to mulch around. My dad has always hand raked his 3 acres and used the grass for mulch. I'm think of doing it faster on my land (and maybe his since we are close). My question is: Will a ground driven side delivery rake be...

    Sloppy tie rod ends?

I've seen a few posts about sloppy tie-rod ends. If you have sloppy tie rod ends (especially on older equipment and trucks), check out Luke's Link. It's basically a rebuild kit for the ball joint. If parts are no longer available or cost...

    piping for air in shop

We talked a little about 2 months or so ago about running air lines in the shop/garage/shed. I got the impression from all the posts that type "L" copper pipe is the best for this. Well, I'm ready to run some lines! One question though: Do the fitting need to be brazed or can they just be soft...

instructions and diagrams for check chains

djradz posted his experience with check chains. I did some research on check chains a while back and have some instructions and diagrams to post. I don't remember exactly where I got this information, but I'll post it here. See the next post.

Mowing air pressure in turfs for mowing

I purchased turf tires for my Kubota B2150 for mowing duties. I've mowed twice now, and the ride seems really harsh. The rear tires are aired up to the maximum on the sidewall (14psi). Is this too much? How low can I safely go? BTW, the rears are 13.6-16, 4 ply tires.

    Swiss Army Tractor

I used my new bucket teeth this weekend and my father-in-law's old roll-over box blade. When I came home, I had to mow my 3-1/2 acre lawn. I took some pics before I did the switch-over. BTW, that's a Kubota B2150 & LA350 FEL. I have no idea who made the blade.

used brush cutter-what to look for

There's a used brush cutter sitting at the end of someone's driveway near me. The sign says: "$275". It's been repainted, so I know to look closer, but what to look for? If we flip it sideways and the gearbox feels good, what else do I look for? Can I get a good used cutter for around $200?

tooth bar parts for the do-it-yourselfers

I've been wanting a tooth bar a while now but just could not give up the approximately $250 for a 48" bar. I have a welder and a machine shop at my disposal, so I try to fabricate most things I need. I have more time than money right now, so I set out to research how I was going to make my own...

    box blade cutting edge change

My father-in-law has an old (and I mean old) 5' roll-over type box blade/scarifier. The cutting edges are beyond worn out. I will need two (forward and back side) edges. Where can i get edges? Will most 5' edges be drilled the same, or will I have to drill new holes? The bolts are beyond help...

    gasket dressings

I've been meaning to ask this question to a forum for some time now to get an opinion. What are the pros and cons of using a gasket dressing? I'm talking about paper or cork gaskets here. I will be replacing a water pump on a Ford pickup this week. The pump seals are not leaking, but the paper...

    a homemade 3PH 2" receiver hitch

I had my friend's digital camera last night, so I snapped a few pics before the sun went down. I already had a 3PH drawbar, so I added to it. I bolted the new hitch to it so I could use the drawbar as is later (if need be, probably not). I use this hitch mainly for moving trailers and boats...

Chalkley Cup revisited (don't kill me!)

Chalkley Cup revisited (don\'t kill me!) I read the entire post today. WHEW! I read some of the post earlier this year. Too bad the 2000 pics are unavailable. Anyway, my mom asks what I want for my birthday. Jokingly, I say a 52-once cup from 7-11. Guess what I got? Being a PC repair guy by...

    dirt leveling, grading, etc.

I did a side job this weekend with my Kubota B2150 w/ FEL. A friend of mine's family member hooked up to the county sewer system earlier this year. The workers had back filled (if that's what you call it) the trench they dug. It looks like a mine field now. The owners had a tandem truck load of...

    Can I remove mid PTO...

It seems that the mid PTO hangs a little too low for my comfort. Has anyone removed theirs and replaced with a plate and a gasket? Looking at my handy parts manual, it seems that the mid PTO just mounts under the transmission with 4 bolts. I guess next time I change the hydraulic fluid, I'll...

Do I have a rear hydraulic outlet block?

I have a B2150DT. I am looking to hook up a wood splitter, hydraulic top link and other hydraulics behind the tractor. I have read that some have used an optional rear hydraulic outlet block. I looked all over my tractor and cannot find where this block might bolt on. I may not have it I guess...

    What is this part for?

See the attachment. I took this pic from Mike Simpson's site (I hope you don't mind Mike). I drew in a "hook" in blue and added some captions. I have this "hook" thingy seemingly screwed in the top of my gearcase behind the fuel tank and in front of the top link bracket. It has a nut (jamnut?)...

    higher output alternator

    3PH control lever

On my B2150D, when I raise an implement a short distance, say an inch or two off the ground, the 3PH control lever won't stay in place. It will drop down and the implement will drop! Is there some adjustment that will keep the control lever in place? The lever seems REALLY easy to move...

    Bi-Speed turn ?'s

Bi-Speed turn ?\'s I just purchased a B2150D. As purchased, the link bar from the right-side steering knuckle to the bi-speen turn box (for lack of a better term) was broke. This arm was made of cast aluminum and one rod end broke off the arm. Anyway, by having this arm diconnected, will I be...

    newbie ?'s on a B2150

newbie ?\'s on a B2150 I just purchased a B2150D (gear-shift 4WD) w/FEL and 5' finish mower. Where can I get a swinging drawbar (besides a dealer)? Also I need turf tires real bad. I know what sizes I need, but where's a good place to get them? I have two more questions, but will start them in...
