suggestions for add on trailer sides

I have one of these: 4.5 x8', sides are 1' high. I'd like to have some higher sides occasionally, especially if they could be waterproof. Should I just put stake pockets on it or are there any more clever ideas?

    lift arms won't stay put!

Lately my B2620 has developed an issue with the stay chains on my lower lift arms. They loosen drastically every pass I make down the driveway with the backblade. They used to stay tight quite a while. I can't find anything that has changed much to cause it. Any Ideas how to keep them tight...

Help small dump trailer design: safe?

I need to build a small dump trailer. I'm thinking of 3 foot wide frame with 4 1/2' wide box over it. The box would be over the wheels which are 26 inch diameter. Will the center of gravity be too high? Sure trac makes a trailer very similar to this but it's on smaller wheels. Unfortunately...

    advise please: difficult workshop build

I'm trying to build a small workshop on a "pay as I go" budget. I was going to pour a floating slab and put a metal carport/garage (TNT style) on it. the current problem is I realized I can't get a cement truck closer than about 75'. So I know pouring the pad is going to get expensive. So...

advice on tiny hydraulic dump trailer?

I have a bunch of utility trailers. a 5x10 for building materials, firewood, moving kids to college etc. The other is 4x6 that I use around the property for firewood mostly because it's small enough to manouever around the woods. I'm looking at the Sure Trac 4.5 x 8 dump to replace both those...

    B leaking fuel filter?elp please

I have not been able to get my fuel filter housing to stop dripping. I've removed and cleaned it several times, but can't get it to stop. To make it worse there's no fuel shutoff , (except the check valve). Any ideas what I can do?

welding high grade chain for security?

I've been looking for a way to secure my log splitter against theft. I'd like to weld a grade 80 chain to the rail because there's nowhere to wrap it around the splitter. It needs to be grade 80 (or maybe 100) so it can't be easily cut. Is this feasible? thanks for any advice.

please help with my oddball trailer

I'm starting on a special purpose trailer and need some advice. i'm building a small trailer to carry camping gear to be used on and off road. I have a 42" x 60" box of 16g sheet metal, and started a frame of 2"x1/8" angle. I figure the usual utility trailers seem to be fine this way. I...

    push-back dump or loadhandler?

I've been looking for a small trailer to use around the property and decided it may as well be "unloadable". I don't have the means to build a real hydraulic dump, but the military trailers that you lock the wheels and push back so they tilt & dump look like a good idea. I'd like to do...

how hard to mount a B2620 MMM?

I've looked all over and can't find details on how the mower deck is mounted. I'd like to know in detail so I can tell what work it may potentially interfere with. Anyone have one that can give details? thanks

convert spot sprayer to boomless braodcast? help?

I have a 15 gallon spot sprayer that I'd like to use for spraying permethrin for ticks. I've seen boomless sprayers for sale. Can I just put a fan spray nozzle on the hose and rig a bracket for it? Any suggestions on a nozzle if that would work? thanks much!

tractor felt like one cylinder misfiring?

I was running my Kubota 2620 today well after it was properly warmed up, then for about 30 seconds it felt like it was running on 2 cylinders. I could keep it running at high throttle but felt like it would stall. It was cold here but the fuel was treated. then it just ran fine again. wierd...

have 2 back blades, what to do?

I'm not sure what the best plan is for my dilemma. I have a nice 5' Woods RB60 which I've used for years. I bought a Countyline 6' blade last year and tried to use it once, but it doesn't have skid shoes like my Woods, so it didn't go well. I was going to rig up some shoes or wheels for it...

    add brakes to old axle?

is it possible to add brake flanges to an existing axle? I have an older 3000 or 3500 lb trailer that really should have brakes, but there is no flange. Is there a way to do this that's relatively painless or should I just get a new axle?

    review of FabWorks front receiver

I just got a front mount 2" receiver from Fabworks OEM for my Kubota B2620. I have no connection to them, but thought others might be interested in this. The receiver tube is 3/16" and the backing plate is 1/4". I haden't expected the grab hook and loop-they're nice touches. Brad was great...

suggestions for ballast/receiver build half done

Welded this up with the intention of encasing in concrete. It will only be 320 lbs concrete but I plan on hanging suitcase weights off the back when I'm not towing. I'm adding another receiver near the top link for accessories (sprayer, carrier) and probably a cross piece to it to add tool...

need help with small trailer design

I need to build a 3 1/2' x 5' trailer with some 2" - 1/8" angle I have. It will only have a GVW of 1000lbs or so, but I would still like it to be rigid. I'm wondering if it would be worth the trouble to set the cross members INTO the side rail angle, rather than the usual way of welding them...

    rebuilt engine reccomendation?

My Wrangler needs a new engine. Yes I know I should drop a V8 in it, but that can't happen now. I've been looking at these long block reman engines that are all over the place for about $1150 + shipping , but I don't know if they're any good. Does anyone have experience with these companies...

    theoretical homestead question

What would be the minimum acreage to support a family of four in an old fashioned homestead? That is, with someone doing minimal outside work, to grow some food and wood to live on mostly from the acreage? I know very little about the subject, but in a wild guess I imagine you need 5 acres of...

can I put concrete in a garage like this?

Thanks everyone for suggestions in my earlier thread. Now I'm finalizing a plan to put up a modular steel garage around 20x26. It will be on gravel for now but I'd like to be able to concrete floor it in a few years. Can I put down 6" of gravel (compact), then spike down PT 6x6 to put the...

    is this blower too big?

I've been looking for a snowblower for years and found a good deal on a Lorenz model for by B2620 hydro. The seller says it's a 60", which would be good I think, but Lorenz says they only make a 66" which I'm afraid is too much for my tractor. I won't know til I get there to buy it what size...

I desperately need a place to start storing some stuff and am on a seriously tight budget. I was thinking about pouring a slab and having one of those $700 steel carports put on it for now, with the idea of eventually adding walls. should I consider a pole building instead? I know I'm going...

    small trailer for b2620?

I have a very small utility trailer but could use a larger one for general use. I've been eyeing the 5x10 trailer with a 3500lb axle at TSC. Question is would my Kubota B2620 be okay on it for occasional trips like for service? roughly speaking the tractor/FEL/loaded tires weighs about 2400...

why shouldn't I do this to the 3PTH? geometry?

I just added carter&sons quick attach brackets to my lift arms. They are mounted on top, not out behind. I realized however that effectively makes the pins close enough to the top link that it's like using the lower mount point for the top link -- and my manual says to avoid that. Any ideas why?

Help with 3 point fork design please

I'm about to build a pallet fork frame for my 3 point hitch. I'd like to keep the top link attachment low, so it is parallel to the lift arms, so the forks stay level when I lift. anyone built "slow-attach" forks?

    why aluminum?

I'm still trying to decide between a Kubota B2920 and L2800. Irealized that besides the "component bolted to frame" of the B's and the traditional solid casting of the L, the B's have aluminum rear ends. What is the purpose of that? Usually one would use aluminum for lightness, but in a tractor...
