First I would use a longer bolt (so no threads in the collar), use a lock washer and tighten it tight. Maybe wrap the nut end with duct tape so you can retrieve it if it fails. If that fails, see if a 14mm bolt will fit in there snugly.

The only thing you have mentioned as being broken is the adjustment knob and/or the pin that secures it. Is something else broken? Have the springs detached? Otherwise, why can't you put on a new knob of sorts, and tighten it down the rate of tension you desire?

I had a John Deere 850 that had an abrupt PTO clutch. I would Idle it down, and then only momentarily engage the PTO clutch, and then fully engage it so it wasn't an all at once start. I don't think that is the problem. Those bolts look like they have been spinning around for a while before...

My rotary cutter has a 1/2" shear pin. When it breaks, it shears neatly at both the top and bottom (flush with the shaft). What's left of the bolt looks unmolested. Your bolts look like they've spent 10 rounds in a cage match. There's a whole lot of shaking going on (and I don't know why).

Have tou tried attaching a board to stiffen up your tines yet? Otherwise I think a dethatcher with shorter/stiffer tines would do what you are looking for.

It looks like it was originally red with yellow wheels. Looks like the previous owner converted it to a 3pt hitch mount. The wheels turn, the chains move, the plates in the seed hoppers turn, the horizontal shaft going to the fertilizer hoppers turns, but the agitators in the fertilizer...

The disc will "roll" over the shallow stumps. It will probably take many passes to get it where you want, but that's half the fun!

Actually, the dock was harder to move than the tower stand. It was steel/heavy, and the first go was on 3/4" river rock, and up a hill. It was hard to get traction. I had a set of caster wheels that helped with the process.

Here are pics of me moving things. One doesn't include an ATV, but I was kind of proud about being able to move a Tower Stand all by myself.

I have to say that Ultrarunner's posts improved the thread, and one included a pic of a UTV, so there is that.

His 3pt leaks down, so wheels would help keep the skids from gouging.

The blades are "lose" so they can swing back if they hit something like a rock or a stump. In normal operation, centrifugal force keeps them extended in cutting position. Fill the gearbox with 80w-90 gear oil. If it leaks, use cornhead grease.

The astute buyer will pay more for a complete disc. I still say there's a pretty good chance that someone will say, for $200 I can scratch up a food plot on my hunting land. Take off that rear gang and put a bunch of weight on it, and it will be functional, It's cheaper than this ;)

It is usable if you remove the single rear gang. Someone would give $200 to use it for a food plot, and sell that rear gang for whatever you can get for it.

If I was going to use just one, it would be a drag harrow. That said, t doesn't take much use to justify a $180 purchase. I think that straw rake would do a nice job of removing the trash, and preparing the seedbed after it has been leveled.
