We just worked on one of our food plots today, so I thought I'd start a thread. I've been able to pick up implements for pretty good prices, but it takes patience and lots of looking. Here's what I have, and pics to follow. I am working on fixing up an old corn planter, and I'd like to have a grain drill, but $$$. Broadcast seeding working well enough for now.

The disc was yard art, and the axles were frozen but easy to free up. All zerks took grease.
Caught people napping at an online auction for the S Tine toolbar
Got the drag at a yard sale
Made the chain drag
Roller was on online auction, but detached from frame. Just needed new pillow block bearings - heavier than it looks
Fertilizer spreader was on Craigslist
Hand seeder bought at Farm and Fleet

I've got a 7 ft APP, chisel plow ($100), a 3 point spreader, bought at auction ($10). No roller, or disc. Here locally, discs come in two types; $850+ and light duty, but ready to use, or $500+ and needing $750 in parts... I would like to have a drill, don't actually care if it's a "no till" or conventional, and a culti-packer.

6’ tiller, brush hog to mow down the previous year’s stubble, 6’ cultipacker, for a drag I have 3 truck tires bolted together (buries bigger seeds better than the cultipacker).

For breaking new ground, I have a sub spoiler and potato plow.

Tiller is the most useful, but it doesn’t like my rocky areas, so I’m contemplating getting a 3 pt disk. And I’d love something that picks rocks better than me bending over.

Nice. Your sub spoiler and potato plow, and for a drag, 3 truck tires bolted together. is tillage on a budget! I'd like to see pics of all.

PS: is Finlayson a suburb of Duxbury?
