I have a massey gc 1705 and i see no way to make the 3 point float. I pull a cmp dethacher and have rolling terrain i drop the 3 point as low as it goes teeth are contacted with the ground first time i hit a high spot the implement is no longer making ground contact frustrating to say the least. It appears that the 3 point is set at a certain point downward and will not go lower unless your holding down the 3 point up/down lever which is what I do to help keep the implement in contact the ground when dethatching. I presume thats life but its really stupid to not provide some linkage component to allow downward travel. My big tractor has draft control but my gc has none. Anyone got any ideas i’m all ears!

Drive the rear wheels up on a block, lower dethatcher and 3pt all the way down drive forward a tad, remove blocks ...

I just hold my lever down on my GC 1725 when land planing, if it's bumpy.

How about a Bungie to hold it "down" ... To free up that hand?

While I haven't tried it, I believe that my idea above with my the drive on the block will also work, not home now ...

Most all 3pt's that I know of "float" up, but not down ...

Here's an idea that someone else did:

I went a different (but very complicated) route. I installed a 5-spool valve to run my top-and-tilt (dual tilt, so that's 3 of the spools) plus another spool to use to rotate my back blade plus another spool for the 3-point. This last spool has 4 positions including float and puts the lever at a much better position (for me at least). But the "degree-of-difficulty" and cost are high.
