Tractor
Mahindra 5155
I purchased a used Mahindra 5155 to use for land clearing, timber harvesting and general property maintenance. Suffered massive tree damage from Helene. Took a year to remove 42 large oaks and now about 15% into 10 acres of 50 year old planted white pines that were 90% blown over or broke in half.

Sounds like you need to get yourself one of those DIY sawmills :). Welcome to the site.

Sounds like you need to buy a battery powered greasegun and keep it handy! You are fixing to give a FEL a serious workout!
What do you need help with? Somebody on this site probably knows the answer!

We lucked out like crazy with Helene. Barely a scratch. We were just west of the epicenter here in Jackson County. Lot's of fellas on the forums from around here.

I've read of some timber companies that can be hired to come in and perform such clearing, plus what they offer for useable timber, which is not much, as downed trees are likely to be split somewhere.

Operators manual gave description of how to remove hydraulic sump screen on Mahindra 5155 that’s impossible to actually do as instructed. I would like to find out from someone who has figured it out,how it should be done.

We had substantial damage to house and out building but compared to others in Lake Lure,Bat Cave and mountains,we were lucky.

Sold four loads of oak saw logs,2 to 3 foot in diameter and cost to load and haul them about same as I made. Only had about 50 mature white pines still standing and they are paying better. Saw mills won’t accept and snapped trees as fibers pulled and logs fall apart. Blown over trees will sell,if you can harvest them before wood turns blue or bark comes off well past that point now. I figure about 90% loss.
