Hello All ,
Obviously I read more than I write around here but this the info here is priceless.
I am not new to tractors or equipment in general but but my 2025 40SE H Cab is new to me last summer. I'll get right to the point. What are the rules of engagement with the IPTO on these models?? My dealer rep was less than decisive and I could not find what I'm looking for in the manual.
With the auto pto feature, that suggests to me that it is not necessary to reduce RPMs to engage the pto?? It wouldn't make sense if you did. I am running Normand 74inch hybrid/inverted snowblower. (which I absolutely love! but that's another story). Does it hurt the clutch to engage at rpm?? It seems flawless. I've seen videos of operators turning on pto after dragging a "mouthfull" of snow to avoid blasting buildings etc with the discharge. Is that harmful??Is it a wet clutch?? I'm guessing engaging the pto with a jammed up auger or fan would break shear pins first?? Not that I would attempt that.
It seems to engage very smoothly, no clunking or other noises and the tractor /blower have performed flawlessly. I'm just new to this type pto.
Thank you all in advance.
Brian
