Any idea what leaves a track like this? It looks like a mini bulldozer went through our yard last night. The tracks lead to under our crawlspace. Groundhog? Really fat racoon with its belly dragging? It's warmed up to a balmy -6F so I'm going to head out to plow. I'll walk back there and see if there are any recognizable foot prints in the track.

I don't see any kind of location in your profile. A location would help us help you.

Something like that down here in the Deep South is usually a turtle. But it's always in mud. We don't have snow.

We have some unbelievable sunsets. I don't have a phone/camera
good enough to really catch the true depth of the sky colors. But as
I've gotten older I will stop to appreciate a fire sky sunset. God's gift?
I think so.

We've been really enjoying the sunrises here.

The sunsets are mostly blocked by trees. Especially in the summertime.

The sunrise changes locations on that field in the photo. In the summer time it rises over the northeast corner instead of the southeast corner.

I find the northeast side to be the better location. But the other morning was pretty breathtaking.

Both photos were taken with the camera on my phone.

Any phone or camera will do. You just have to manually set it to underexpose the photo because, if set to auto exposure, they will attempt to brighten the dark areas of the scene which bleaches out the sunset colors.

Here's an example. First photo I snapped quickly, without adjusting the camera which tries to "brighten" the exposure to allow for the dark mountains:

In this photo I set the exposure to underexpose the shot by about a stop and a half, resulting in much richer colors:

Underexposing a sunset always gives the best colors:

All these photos were taken from the deck on my house!

Some belly dragger! :ROFLMAO:

I'd guess otter but you said it went into your crawlspace. Maybe an opossum or raccoon. Groundhogs should be in hibernation.

How deep was the snow, and are there any footprints in it?

The snow was about 7" deep. It was a very dry, powdery snow so the footprints aren't well defined enough to identify.

A well endowed squatch?
