Who rides motorcycles?

I've looked at those big ADV bikes but unless you are riding to Alaska or Argentina, they are just too big and heavy.

Same here. All too many times I'm following "singletrack" - usually a horse trail weaving in and out of the draws and washes and trees and those big boys are just too unwieldy at slow speeds.

In my younger days I had 2 or even 3 bikes at one time and picked the one I would ride on any particular day depending on where I was riding. The 500 and 600 cc bikes for dirt roads. The 200/250 cc bikes for singletrack and other really rough terrain.

Oh, I forgot one of my current bikes; deserteagle jogged my memory. 2021 CRF250F. My single-track and trail plonker. Between our property, my brother's property and the neighboring mostly vacant air b&b I have miles of trails at my disposal. All 3 properties adjoin to form about 212 acres.

Gibson Township! No wonder those photos look so familiar! I grew up in the 50s and 60s on a farm near Heart Lake!

The U.S. Department of the Interior announced on Tuesday, Nov. 25, that the America the Beautiful pass will once again cover two motorcycles per pass at national parks across the United States, starting in 2026. This announcement follows the provisions of H.R. 4386, 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐀𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐚 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐁𝐞𝐚𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐌𝐨𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐜𝐲𝐜𝐥𝐞 𝐅𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐀𝐜𝐭, introduced by Rep. Tim Walberg (R-MI-05), which passed the House Natural Resources Committee by voice.

Oh, dang! Both sets of grandparents had farms on east mountain, just north of Elk mountain, about 3 miles from Chet's bar. Small world, man!

Hey ya'll, I'm going to put together a couple of tool kits for the bikes. Wonder if you have done that. What's in em? What do you wish was in em?
I have saddle bags to carry it so it can be a little larger than the OEM offerings.

Small first aid kit not enough to do open heart surgery tho, zip ties, bailing wire, elect wire, spare fuses, elect. tape, vice grips, small adjustable wrench, small set of sockets, knife or leatherman, tire plugs and either CO2 cartridges or small air pump, disp. gloves, couple extra $$ hidden, rags, parachute cord. If you're so inclinded, a booster pack/cell phone charger, preinstalled SAE outlet on the bike that can be used to charge your cell phone along with appropriate adaptor to suit phone.
If you're not going many many miles from home a CAA or AAA membership with motorcycle towing option that many give you a tow home.
