Lifts sure make it more enjoyable to work on a motorcycle.

At my age, especially Getting on the floor to wrench on something is one thing.....

Wife and I both fighting off the instability of old age. Use it or loose it was never more true than when you are in your 60s and 70s. There are a lot of exercises that help recover and maintain mobility, minimizing the struggle of everyday activity, or falls, and generally allowing a person to continue to do what you love to do in your 'golden years'. But you gotta work at it.

Couple of pics. My refurbished HF lift table and 1st use, XT250 oil change was a breeze. No bending over, laying on the floor, etc

Thanks! It's a 2019...SW Motech stuff is pretty nice. Just turned 30k miles this year. Runs like a Honda.

I sold all 3 of my motorcycles this year. Mostly because I have other irons in the fire that have a higher priority. I'm sure I will get at least one again in the next few years. I had a KTM Super Adventure, Ninja 250, and KLX 250.

I had a scare last week. I got a call from a company "representing" an insurance company, saying that one of the motorcycles I had sold had been in an accident (at fault) and was not insured. They said it was in my name and I'm on the hook for damages. Dumb me didn't write out a bill of sale since I signed over the title.... I went to the accessors office and had them print off where I removed it when I sold it. They also ran the VIN and the stupid thing had been registered in the other person's name for 3 months before the accident. I don't know if I was in the process of being scammed or if the call was akin to ambulance chasers trying to get some money back for the insurance company that paid out on uninsured motorist.

I really enjoy this motorcycle and while it's not a copy of any one motorcycle from Honda's past it is a modernized version of what they were. It incorporates certain things like being air cooled, traditional UJM styling, 18" front wheel, and full chrome fenders. But it also is fuel injected which I appreciate rather than carbureted.
In 1975 I had a CB750 and this CB1100 reminds me of it only it's so much better. For trips I just pop on the quick attach shield, soft bags over the seat, and tent on the rear rack.

Sold this Friday...

It looks like a step backwards, and it is, in tech and horsepower. But I wanted something lighter and more dirt worthy. As I get older I appreciate lighter motorcycles. I retire in about a month and just want to plonk around the backroads, exploring and defragging my mind from 30 plus years of interaction with inmates. Motorcycle history as an adult:

I already have a Warp 9 cush hub rear wheel ordered with a Dunlop 606 mounted on it, and a Seat Concepts low seat; the seat on the XR is skyscraper high and I don't want to install a lowering link on it unless I absolutely need to.

I've looked at those big ADV bikes but unless you are riding to Alaska or Argentina, they are just too big and heavy.

Same here. All too many times I'm following "singletrack" - usually a horse trail weaving in and out of the draws and washes and trees and those big boys are just too unwieldy at slow speeds.

In my younger days I had 2 or even 3 bikes at one time and picked the one I would ride on any particular day depending on where I was riding. The 500 and 600 cc bikes for dirt roads. The 200/250 cc bikes for singletrack and other really rough terrain.

Oh, I forgot one of my current bikes; deserteagle jogged my memory. 2021 CRF250F. My single-track and trail plonker. Between our property, my brother's property and the neighboring mostly vacant air b&b I have miles of trails at my disposal. All 3 properties adjoin to form about 212 acres.

The U.S. Department of the Interior announced on Tuesday, Nov. 25, that the America the Beautiful pass will once again cover two motorcycles per pass at national parks across the United States, starting in 2026. This announcement follows the provisions of H.R. 4386, 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐀𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐚 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐁𝐞𝐚𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐌𝐨𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐜𝐲𝐜𝐥𝐞 𝐅𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐀𝐜𝐭, introduced by Rep. Oh, dang! Both sets of grandparents had farms on east mountain, just north of Elk mountain, about 3 miles from Chet's bar. Small world, man!
