I bought a used but new to me cruiser last weekend. It's a Triumph Speedmaster. I'm making a couple of small modifications, getting ready to ride.

After 50, a man shouldn't buy any more motorcycles......

..... after all, 50 bikes should be enough ! (Excepting Jay..... I think he has around half that #, just in Vincents !).

Not my line ^, and it probably was posted here not long back..... I find it a cute reminder, that having just one MC can be on-par with having just one potato chip....

Sweet bike - AND a sweet looking El Camino too. Some guys have all the luck :)

My first car was a 67 el camino. Your picture reminded me of it.

Just back from the ice skating rink.
It's 52 degrees, cloudy and a blustry wind. After last night's rain, the dirt roads were like grease. I had to give my full attention just to stay upright for the three miles before pave. The Vespa was a bit twitchy!
It sure feels strange riding a scooter into town to go ice skating.

Almost time to put the Honda VFR800 in for the winter. That 25 year old bike sure puts a smile on my face every time....

My Bates leather jacket got a good rubbing of mink oil, and is hanging near the wood stove warming. That coat is pushing 40 years old. Still in fine shape!
I let my young son have the Langlitz jacket a number of years back. He sold his motorbike, so maybe I should reclaim it. Custom taylored, It's a nice fit.

The insurance on my sportster expires Sunday or Monday. I expect to put on my snowmobile gear for a last ride. I also have a thirty year plus leather jacket I love. It needs a new lining for the second time and I'm afraid to ask what that will cost this time. I'm feeling it's not going to happen.

My Bates jacket needs relining. The sickly yellow satin is truly grungy. I tried to clean it last evening, scrubbing with soap suds and small brushes. It's better, but still nothing I care for others to see.

A quick "interweb search" suggests $250 for a new liner... That seems like a lot, but a good jacket is tripple that new.

Decisions...decisions

I got a great leather jacket from GOODWILL that fit. They didn't know what it was, so I got it for $10 dollars. Almost unused. It was easily a $350 Jacket, something like that. I now look all the time, and have several high end leather jackets because Goodwill doesn't know how to price certain things. Can't find MC rated pants though. I don't want leather on these. But can't find any I would want to skid on, in some other construction. So, like, chainsaw pants?

So have any of the Chinese tire companies started building decent dual sport tires yet?
Need a 21" front tire.
I put the tusk 2 track on my himalayan. Very stiff side walls so it's a chore to mount. But I love the traction off-road. Extremely tough tires. And I did not notice any nuisance noise or vibration on the return highway trip from the Washington BDR

I stopped riding my Harley back in 2018. To many stupid morons on the road not paying attention.
There are only 2 kinds of motorcycle riders, lucky ones, and dead ones. It`s just a matter of time.

I still have my Harley. When i die, my ashes will go in the gas tank, then the bike will be crushed and buried.

My Dairy Queen 👑 , and my Thumper.
I looked a lot at the RE offerings. Is that a 350cc? I looked at buying the Super Meteor new. Very reasonable pricing. But ended up buying something slightly used.
How do you like it?

40-50k people die in car accidents each year in the US. To put that in perspective if those people stood in a line it would be 15 miles long.
People that ride motorcycles understand the risks and rewards. Life is a constant choice between risk and reward. Riding, like investing $, is full of risk management.

When younger I did ride motorcycles. I enjoyed riding a great deal and would own one now except that I have too many people depending on me. I have several friends that have been seriously injured on them. Not all from collisions with vehicles, two hurt from collisions with deer. On one of my last rides I had my only accident ever. Driving about 20-25 mph on a gravel road when a dog jumped from a bank into my side. Laid a Yamaha down and slid a short distance. Luckily neither the bike or I were not seriously injured. Sold the bike shortly after. That was about 50 years ago.

I wanted a m/c all my life, but nooooo... Mom said flatly NO. Then my wife... NO! You have kids to support, etc., etc., etc. By the time I was 57 and divorced, I met a good-looking Gal riding a big Harley. i wanted to go out with her, but her demands were "If you want to go, you'll have to be on a m/c. Tuff demands, right? But I definitely wanted to go out with that gal.
So, I went down the next weekend and bought a well-used cop-bike. Not knowing how to ride it, I asked her to ride it home for me. That she did, in the pouring down rain no less.
If you think I jumped on the bike then, you'd be wrong. First thing I did was completely go through the bike, replacing every worn part. That effort, taking me about 4 months, that knowledge and experience proved very valuable to me many times over in the future. Once I had a completely renewed bike including changing the cop features, including changing the red/blue emergency lights, I got on my 'new' bike and learned to ride.
I immediately took a couple of m/c riding classes, then soon after the Advanced Police M/C riding class. Now I was ready to go riding with that good-looking lady. She and I hit it off like you wouldn't believe. We went riding every spare second, totally well over 200,000 miles over the next 20+ years.
I had to put my riding days behind me due to health reasons. Yep- 29 years later, we're still together. but the memories are forever, as is my love for that Harley-Riding lady.

believe it is a ranchero, does it have a 460?
Lots of interest in the Ranchero. The picture was from the seller so I don't have details on the Ranchero.
Been making a few mods on Triumph. Replaced the smaller 2 piece engine guards with a wrap around crash bar soon to be fitted with highway pegs.
Installed 1 up 1 over spacers on the handle bars.
Ordered a windshield and saddlebags.
