I wish my class c 4500 had tpms sensors it's kind of a pia checking the dual rear wheels pressure. Especially if you don't have the valve stems lined up properly and those ridiculous chrome hubcaps didn't help. Soon after purchasing my class c removed them and bought used Chevy center caps for much more functional "bling".

I like TPMS. Sure, maybe its not 100% reliable, but neither is a tire gauge. Sure, we all always check our tire pressure... before every trip. Even when required to do a pre-trip, we all actually do it before checking the box, right;)

I do know TPMS is more accurate than "doesn't look low to me" gauge.

On everything ive got/use, there is no down side to the Tpms. Even if its broken, so what, it gives you a red or yellow tire light, but it's not like it puts it in limp mode or locks the transmission. Now, if there are vehicles that do that, that would probably change my mind.

I've grown so accustomed to backing up without cameras I sometimes forget I have one on some of my vehicles to back up. 😂. They do come in handy when hooking up trailers though.

Just bought my first vehicle with one, I can see where it would handy for trailers or backing into a loading dock to be close enough. I can still back the magnum to the dock without a cam.

Having the dump bed in the new truck makes rear view useless but side mirrors work fine.

You would be happy with my 2007 Dodge 2500. It has neither of those things. However I love the backup camera and TPMS in my 2020 Jeep. I wish my truck had those.
Already have my old basic truck and quite happy with it, but thanks. It's my newer vehicles that give me heartburn....

Real curious on what you think of the dumperdog box on your new truck. I actually looked at a old ,1 ton or 3/4 15 yrs ago with one, then all of a sudden a 1 ton baby dump came on the market in my price range $600 bucks however I put a out 400 mostly from u pick junk yards in it to get it reliably roadworthy.

I'll let you know once I get some real use out of. Been fiddling with the truck fixing little things, mounting tires and still have to change all the fluids. Learning how Chevy does stuff, been all MoPar for 40 years.

Been so dry there has not been a lot of rock or dirt to move. Not worth getting the truck out even to play for a couple of loader runs with a tractor. I think it's first chore will be hauling scrap to the recycler, but it's deer and beef season so it may be a while until drag stuff out of the shop that needs it.

Of course we are getting some rain so I may need to move things sooner.

And, while we're at it, get rid of the TPMS which is another reason they feel the "need" to install screens in vehicles....
I have had TPMS sensors way longer than screens. I think every vehicle I’ve purchased since 2003 has had TPMS’s, although the older ones were just set to trip an indicator light at a preset threshold rather than actually giving real-time pressure.

I have to admit, seeing daily tire pressure is one of the things I love about having a screen. I don’t love it for radio controls, but I like the full array of vehicle data, everything from oil pressure to transmission temperature. I remember mounting AutoLite gauges for all that crap 30 years ago, made the dash look like a vintage Boeing 727. :ROFLMAO:

I got a banks brand stand alone can, plugs into my Sierras obd outlet can monitor up to 8 different things on what my trucks doing mechanically. I think it works with both gas and diesel, No it's not a tuner or anything like that.problabt way better than trying to install extra gauges on modern vehicles, I do like to see what's going on top of factory gauges though.

Never driven a car with a backup camera.

Until a couple years ago, I'd never owned a vehicle with one either. I can take it or leave it. As others have noted, makes it a LOT easier to hook up to a trailer. For other backing, I'll use it in combination with mirrors.

I have to admit that I like the cameras on my newer vehicles. It's all the other electronic crap I hate.
Both of my vehicles are 2019's, and neither has a lot of intrusive electronic crap. I wish there was a way to turn off the various chimes (door open with key in ignition, seatbelts), and the auto-up/down on the power windows but neither of mine have much of the nanny crap that became standard in the 20s.
About the only things controlled via touchscreen are some of the radio functions and some setup stuff (that's set once and forget). Heater and tuning/volume on the radio are knobs.

Is there a way to select which things it monitors? Regen and DEF level aren't much use to those of us who drive gassers.

Yes many parameters you can Display to monitor I picked those cuz I completely understand what they mean. Pretty sure when I sell that truck I'm keeping the banks monitor and putting it in my RV which has a gas 6.0.

The rear view camera Might add $250 to the cost. Who would really say, "nah, dont add that, id rather get out 7 times to back up to the trailer"
So true.
I had to tow my bumper pull trailer this morning. Hit it on the first try with my wonderful built-in back up camera. I even have a second camera that views the GN ball in the bed. Works everytime and saves time & aggravation.

Dr Rick approved ;)

Stuff nobody may actually think of: If you don’t have a back up camera, and you have to get out several times to adjust vehicle to hitch, you wear out your drivers seat faster. You risk a fall, you lose 5 minutes more out of your work day.

How many times do you want to do that before that $250 back up camera pays for itself?

TPMS is vital to me. When I’m towing at max capacity, those 4 rear tires must be checked. A blowout could cost me my life.
I just wish I had them on my trailer, too.

They are very accurate. Whenever I compare them to a traditional air gauge, they are within 1-3lbs.

They make cheap or expensive solutions to that

Cheap may be worth a look

My Ram is set up form the factory to monitor my trailer, but I never put the TPMS monitors in my trailer tires….
The external sensor may be worth it alone. Easy to screw on and monitor.
