Cable company finally finished the line on our road so I got 1 gig internet installed today.
I’m on a dead end county road with maybe 12 homes, never thought I’d see “cable” come to our house. 2-3 years ago Spectrum ran fiber optics to all of us, what a happy day that was.

Power co-op had been doing pole replacement, and Comcast has been doing a route check. Im 90% sure the power pole work, is "make ready" work for the Comcast build. Im 80% happy with Tmobile cell internet, and its cheaper; so im a bit torn on if I would hook up. It's always cheaper to hook up on the build phase, then add at a later date. Just their route planning; they need to go about 1300 lf to pick up 3 homes...

If i ever poured a new garage floor or parking ribbon id go minimum 6”. Im so sick and tired of concrete cracking.

If i replace the slab where i park my tractor, its going to be 6” with steel plates that allign with tires so the chains wont damage concrete.
I actually spoke with a civil engineer I work with yesterday, half joking, that being in the profession, some times we over build things out of habit/used to a commercial/road spec. I wasnt talking to him about my parking pad, we were talking about another project, and I showed him pictures. One of the other guys pointed out, thats 5.5", not 6", "red tag that one".

They came this spring and replaced poles here first to allow clearance when the cable was attached. I was ok with our cell internet but the upload speed was iffy for my wife’s zoom meetings. Plus this is cheaper. USDA gave grants for our rural area for them to build out.

Pictures or it didn’t happen 😬, A dump trailer is something I’ve wanted for quite a while, but like everything it’s more money than I’m willing to part with. My RTV has a hydraulic dump bed but with the sides I’ve added to the bed the front end gets light with a full load.
I don't have it yet. Ordered and paid for, expect delivery in 6 weeks

Returning some unused materials from recent project bought and finally replaced my older circular saw blades after I saw a pretty good deal on a set. Shiny new 24 tooth carbide tipped has always worked good for me anyway. Also replaced my masking tape mag blade guard repair with gorilla tape I also bought so it's good as new, right? 😂

Another M18 battery, forge this time.
While it will last the same amount of time, it certainly puts out more of the power, can actually feel the difference in my weed wacker.

Bought a New Caulk gun although my wife won't let me use adhesives and sealants with it in her presence she does a pretty good job though this is due to messes I make despite me constantly telling myself less is more no idea what eventually happens 😂

Got this generator a few weeks ago and put it to work powering two 1500 watt heat guns. So far, I really like it and its setup is better designed than the 2000I version we've owned for years. 3000 watts draw was no big deal.

Bought a cheap blank 1/4" thick qa plate for my tiny tractor up north also bought a cheap adjustable Chinese 60- 72" utv snow plow still in shipping. Plan is to cut plow arms weld with gussets and braces to new qa plate plus weld pipe to cutting edge on plow and use it for a snow plow up north with my tiny tractor at my cabin. I was blown away how much cheaper it was to build my own qa plow than buy an actual subcompact plow. Despite my apprehension of sacrificing a cheap brand new Chinese made plow I'm expecting much better results than my underpowered self contained ATV snow blower. Might start a thread on that project if there's interest.

We found aftermarket battery's to be of less quality than the originals for our 18volt makita tools.. Seemed like less amp hours as marked but we still use them since they run 1/3 the price.

Drip irrigation arrived today, for a small test plot of approx 200 evergreens. To combat new tree die off. Before I plant this fall, Most likely caused by lack of water. I shall see. Looking forward to learning something new. Insight and Tips by experienced irrigation folks is appreciated.

With as dry as it's been all newly planted items are at risk. This spring into early summer we had a ton of rain so everything was green and good. Now, burned up plants everywhere and I too put in drip irrigation but was too late on some of my planted items and are dead as nails.
