Show me all the windowed cummins blocks.

Are you saying it didn't happen?

SR
What is the % of all produced Cummins inlines??

Wow in other News GM truck owners get screwed, in GM lawsuit being "decertified" concerning the 8 speed, and the 10 speed may be next.

Nate lets them have it.

It is being made for the medium duty truck market, not PU's.

B6.7 Octane

The Cummins B6.7 Octane engine is specifically designed and developed for the medium-duty market while achieving 2027 EPA and CARB compliance.

Uh, UIAM ALL ISB Inline 6 Cummins are considered Medium Duty Engines already.

New reports RAM HD's will get the New B7.2 Cummins inline 6 in 2027 Not sure about going with OHC on either but the Octanes numbers are impressive and hard to argue with for low end torque...

So is the 5.9/6.7 Cummins, but they put them in light duty trucks anyway.

99% of truck buyers would be happier buying a light duty truck with a medium duty rated engine than a light duty engine.

I didn’t know Cummins bought the Jacobs Engine Brake Company (Jake Brake) in 2022.
That’s a huge move.

Drat! I was already drooling over buying one.
Just because it's Medium duty, it doesn't mean it won't be in a Ram.
Ram already has a medium duty diesel in its Ram 2500-5500

The Dealer just completed the recall on the L87 6.2L engine in my 2022 GMC Sierra 1500, and it checked out ok. They replaced the oil fill cap & filter, Changed the oil to a heavier weight and listened to the engine with a fancy type of stethoscope. Pretty much what the recall notice said.

Still a bit nervous driving it though, listening for any unusual engine sounds. The good news is, I'm covered if there should be a future failure specific to the recall. It's important to keep records proving you used the right oil type though if you change your own oil.

Only a 3% failure rate though so the numbers are on my side. Too bad about the hit on the trade in value.

Medium duty, as in: It makes no sense to put a cast iron lugger in a half ton. It doesnt give high horsepower but it will deliver longevity and torque in a towing truck.

Man suffers most from what he fears (but never happens)

I have a very quiet whine in the transmission, which only i hear. I can worry about it grenading the bearing rollers through the front wall, into the bellhousing, bending the clutch bolts while being pushed through that sidewall too, like i had 21 years ago, but thats an unrealistic expectation...

When did I say “half ton”? I said 2500-5500.
Read much?

Would it make more sense to get rid of it now, while under said warranty?
I’d think once the warranty is up, you’re in “no man’s land”.

Not much fun driving something you have to worry about. Maybe your GM dealer will make you a good deal on a similar vehicle with a different motor?

Your remark implicitly excluded the half ton. My remark explicitly excluded the half ton. So in essence we said the same. Read much ? 🤷🏻

Hey, you were the one who quoted me saying “2500-5500”, implying I left out “half ton”.
Maybe your comprehension skills would benefit from some sharpening?

No, not mine. You didnt comprehend, chose to take offense, and now insult me because running your mouth before putting the brain into gear, made yourself look dumb.

We were actually agreeing about that motor and its purpose, yet somehow you found a reason to make trouble. Just take a deep breath now 😁

I may do just that if the trade in value increases a bit. The warranty period for engines involved in the recall is 10 years or 150K miles. I usually trade my vehicles every 6 or 7 years anyway, so there's no rush.

Get yourself a beautiful Duramax diesel.
What a ride!

No complaints here. I have a 6.6 Duramax and a 3.0 Duramax, both 2024 models GMCs. The 2025 Tahoe with a 6.2L is after the problem years.

Trying to talk my wife into a loaded 3L Duramax Tahoe.
That would be the “ultimate” vehicle to me.

Go for it. The wife's 2025 Tahoe High Country is really nice. If they had had one with the 3.0 Duramax we would have gotten it but went with the 6.2L instead. I have 16,000 miles on my 2024 Yukon Denali with the 3.0 Duramax. It shows a combined mileage of 24 mpg. On the highway I routinely get 30 mpg or better. The best on the DIC is 38 mpg over a 25-mile stretch, 34 mpg over 50 miles.
