That Deere is really nice, and plumbed with all the hydraulics. It's got enough hours that any problems should have shown up, but still low to the point of being damn near new.

Your patience ought to really pay off, whatever machine you do go with. The options just seem to keep getting better.

If you feel it's a good deal, tell him you agree to the 47k and offer him a non refundable down payment to hold it until you get funding from your bank. Maybe $500 or $1000?

There is always a risk you may loose your down payment. But if it's a good enough deal, it may be worth that risk.

We are waiting on our bank because the camp property and this tractor are in the whole package at less than 7%. Nonetheless, used Kubota's and JD's are showing up on a regular bases and he might still be in possession of this tractor in a month.

The yellow JD front blowers don't seem to be as good as the RAD units that Kubota uses.

Some of the tractors we've looked at came with blowers, either JD of Kubota made. I can't comment on there designs.

Arly, the decent blowers are not cheap but they work well. The only issues I had with a front mount was dealing with the subframe and mid PTO hook up. More than this old man wanted to struggle with. I ended up buying a pull type blower but sold it this year as it was overkill for the amount of snow we get in my area of northern Michigan.

You will have a different situation…but you know that.

Keeping a camp property in tge Upper accessible during the winter will be a challenge.

In the mountains around here, a fairly common sight is a garage-like structure at the plowed county road where people keep a sled or snowcat; they park their truck and just go in on tracks in the snow times. Cabins tend to have two front doors - one a couple steps up from the ground, and one that goes in the second floor with a staircase that may or may not get used.

Arly, when I decided the blower was not the right tool for my needs, I looked at a plow just like this one for my tractor. The last two years I have used a Western V plow and it has done a good job but hate putting it on and off the F250. BTW, only used the V feature once so I was looking at a straight blade like you show in your picture. Nice being able to use the loader to lift piles of snow up if needed.

If my neighbor does not do a decent job, it will be getting one of these front blades. I hope to sell the V plow and can get a new tractor plow for about the same money or a bit more. Not having to deal with taking the plow on and off the truck is worth it to me.

I believe a front plow like that could handle even an 18" snow event. But I live here full time and would be able to plow during a heavy dump of snow if needed. There is no perfect tool for every situation, so I look at what will work 90% of the time and make do the one time every year or two when what I have is not ideal. If it takes another hour to get the job done once a year it is not big deal.

But it sure is impressive having a 50 foot spray of snow whipping out of blower!!!
