A few weeks ago I traded my in my old Mitsubishi MT 272 for a new MF 1 GC23 with mower deck, loader and forks. Am really enjoying it.
Just inspected the deck and just a few dings in the blades, not enough to warrant removal and sharpen.yeah, those pins should be inserted the other way with the clips on the inside. Seems like all the dealers put them in backwards or something. They are more of a PITA to insert with the clips inside. I did something similar, but I did not mow it. I have not had any issues since I started putting them in the right way.
Did you chip or bend the blades?
When I had the deck, I did the same thing with the screw/nut after one of my casters came off like yours did.Just inspected the deck and just a few dings in the blades, not enough to warrant removal and sharpen.
Did a bunch if grinding and required a holesaw to clean out the grease fitting. Bolt and lockout now the pin for this one. Swapped all other pins around and sprayed with what can of red I had on hand, it's not Massey red

What is your secret guys? When I had the deck, I did the same thing with the screw/nut after one of my casters came off like yours did.
Mowing along the edge of my property or close to areas where there is a lot of brush and shrubs. If the clips are installed on the outside of the deck a stick or anything stiff can easily snag the clip and pull it off. I mow extremely close to brush and shrubs to keep them from spreading and in some cases mow them back. What is your secret guys?
I've had my 2310 for almost 18 years, mostly for mowing, and never had that issue.
My newer 1725 I have yet to engage the mower and the mower sits in the barn. I looked it over and don't see it being any more prone to losing a wheel than the old one. Major difference is it's a drive over.
I guess. I've got plenty ditches and shrubs etc.Mowing along the edge of my property or close to areas where there is a lot of brush and shrubs. Some years back, when this happened to my tractor, I had a dude here on TBN argue with me that it's impossible that some brush could yank the spring pin out. But yes, it's possible, coz that's exactly what happened. Moot point at this point, coz I now mow with a stand on mower. What is your secret guys?

Yep, until you see it happen, or I should say, until you have to go looking for a guide wheel, you'll swear that those clips can't be yanked out. I was surprised the first time it happened to me. Honestly, if it wouldn't make it take 4x the amount of time to adjust the wheel height I'd switch to bolts and lock nuts all around. However, since I've put the pins in with the clips on the inside, I have not had one pulled off. Some years back, when this happened to my tractor, I had a dude here on TBN argue with me that it's impossible that some brush could yank the spring pin out.
