Ford Maverick Pickup?

Did a little Googling and was surprised to see the Frontier was the #3 selling midsize truck, behind the Colorado/Canyon and the tacoma. A bit surprising since I hardly ever see any on the road. Had nearly 2x the sales of the Ridgeline, so it would make sense to keep it should the merger ever happen.
Biggest surprise to me was how poorly the Ranger is selling...it's in last place.
All this was based on 1st Q 2024.
That doesn’t surprise me about the Ranger. It’s priced very close to the F-150, and many people end up opting for the F-150.

I see Frontiers used by landscapers with bed racks…

Many are extended cab.

My only reservation on the Maverick is transmission longevity… maybe why towing limitations?

Local Ford dealer is discounting 25k Mavericks $1500 off MSRP

This is if I can believe the ads popping up since I started this thread…

$10 dollars says the markup is better on 150.
Volume is everything in manufacturing. Higher volume drives down costs due to scale of economy.

They make the F150 and it's associated components at a rate of almost 500,000 units per year. The Ford Ranger has global sales around 380,000, but less than 50,000 of those are sold in the US.

Assuming Ford distributes manufacturing by global region, their North American-based manufacturing of Ranger components might be only 25% of their North American-based manufacturing of F150 components. Probably even worse than that, considering the F150 likelys shares many components with F250 and F350, which the Ranger does not.
