I bought a used GCK60-23BX grass catcher aka bagger for my BX25D. I have now learned that the 23BX means it is frame mounted amd the 26BX model is 3 point mounted. I didn't realize there was an option I assumed it was just a change they made at some point and depending on what year you bought it would be one or the other.

The GCK60-23BX will mount to the backhoe frame with the help of an adapter kit BX3086, but I was able to use some PVC conduit and make my own bushings to get me by until I order the actual kit. If you have a normal BX there are included mounts that bolt to the side of the tractor frame. If anyone wants more detailed pictures I can take them.

I forgot to ask to look at the mower deck and get the hardware off of the previous owners so I welded up one to get me by. They are 4 hours away so not sure if I'm going to ask them mail the pieces.... Also I am missing the deck baffle but will likely build my own.

I've only used it enough for two full loads and so far it is great. I have used a cyclone rake for the last 2 or 3 years but I rather have a PTO powered fan vs a separate engine. The Cyclone rake did work very very well and the capacity is very nice. If anyone has questions let me know.

I had a BX22 with the bagger and it mounted to the 3PH... It was a pita.. It did work very well but I always hated taking it off and putting it on. I always thought it should have just had a horizontal bar that sat in the hook area where the BH sat, Then be able to push it forward and slide a pin through the spot where the top link attached to the tractor.

Okay that's good news then, this one connects just like the backhoe but you also connect the top link. It was very akward the first time at least, but is very sturdy and is nice and close to the machine so the weight balance feels fine.

I also just recently picked up a GCK60-23BX for my Bx2680. I will say i prefer the frame mounted version, and once I get my hyd top link it will be very easy to r&r.

Mine came with all the deck mounting hardware, but unfortunately it must have been for a different size and model deck as it doesn't fit.

I also have to remake the deck baffle since it is pretty rough and doesn't mount up to my deck. I thought about just buying one but they are pretty spendy!

You've got that right! I have the metal and tools so I plan on just building everything to mount it. I'll take a few pics and share. I also plan on making a video attaching it and removing it.

The hydraulic top link would definitely be nice! I used a motorcycle jack and a floor jack in combination to mount mine but it was still quite a dance to line it up, it is nit balanced so trys to fall to the right side the whole time.

How many stands does yours have? Mine had 2, one under the blower and one on the bagger upright closest to the blower.
I moved that one to the further upright from the blower, and it seems to be fairly balanced.
I will say you do have to watch how you move it or else it will end up upside down quick.

Mine has two stands as well, I wasn't real sure where to set them, tried diff positions but ended up just using the jacks. I'll slow down and use a little more patience next time, I was just anxious to try it out!

How expensive are these things, as compared to say a cyclone rake. I saw one set up like this on a bad boy commercial zt at the dealer. But its a $22,000 lawn mower.

No idea new, I got mine used for 500.

I know the hard clamshell style I have on my zd331 was over 5k new.

I believe the boot kit that connects to the deck is extra, it is $300+.

I have $1,000 for mine, hardly used. Not sure the year model but it was on a BX2660 so I'm guessing early 2010s. I believe they made the 60 series from 2010ish to 2014ish.

Mine also came off a 2660 but must have been a 54in deck as the boot bracketry didn't match up at all.

Also the rear mounting brackets were different, but luckily I had the correct brackets in my pile of random Kubota parts!

Tractor data says 08-13 for the 60 series.

I found a used Hustler super Z bac-vac for sale. My plan is to convert the hopper for use on the Kubota bagger. I am not sure how much work it'll take but I'll find out soon, I'm going to pick it up this weekend. Luckily the Kubota bag frame comes off easily, no cutting necessary, bolts only. My plan is to unbolt it and build a frame the bolts in it's place that mounts the hopper. That way it could be swapped back to bags if needed. Attached is a stock pic of the setup I'm buying.

The weights are coming with it so I'll likely mount those on the front of my BX. I am going to give the blower and chute to my father-in-law to use with his Hustler Super Z, he already has the bags. So nothing will be wasted.

I have a similar plan except with a Scag collector since that's what I have sitting around, thinking about making the dump hyd.

I had an older Hustler with the Bacvac, hopefully that one has more capacity as I always found mine to be on the small side.

Just in case someone wants to make thier own "bushings" easily for one of the 23BX baggers to fit on a BX25D backhoe mount:

1" schedule 40 rigid PVC ground down slightly works for the top.

Same PVC plus 6 layers of duct tape plus a piece of old galvanized trampoline leg works for the bottom lolol 😁

I almost started looking for a lathe to buy but figured I needed a better excuse than this.... I'll find one eventually.

PS the adapter kit is listed on the Messicks website as of May 2025 but I didn't try to order it.

I'm supposed to pick up the Hustler Bac-Vac this coming weekend, will post some pictures of that project.

The guy with the Hustler bagger flaked out... I guess he realized he priced it too cheap. No high-tech dump from seat setup for now.

I built the baffle for the deck and completed the boot mounting brackets. When it dries up enough I'll put it to work. We have been getting rain after rain here, very unusual.

We're getting soaked here, the other day we got almost 4in in just over 1hr.

I need it to dry out enough so I can mow before it gets too tall.

deere wants almost $6000 CAD for their powerflo setup for the x700 series mowers. I paid $2000 CAD brand new for mine in 2015. I love mine but at that price I would look at other options.
