Straight pipe on yanmar 2TR series engine

Has anyone on here put a straight pipe/stack on their tractor with a 2TR series of engine? I looked for videos on YouTube, but couldnt find anything. Just curious if it will actually sound decent or if it will be annoying/obnoxious. Plus, I want the exhaust exit up and away from my face. Thanks

Being a 2 cylinder engine, I can only imagine being obnoxiously loud and uncomfortable to be even close to.

I had the muffler break on the Kubota B7000 I had, also 2 cylinder engine. That thing sounded so bad and was so obnoxious that I stopped the work I was doing to fix it right away.

We have a Deere M 2 cylinder with straight pipe I hate… but my teenage nephew loved it…

Any diesel without a turbocharger will be obnoxiously loud. Turbocharged diesels are relatively quiet as the turbo breaks up the sound waves. If you don't want to have it 'in your face', install a down pipe instead.

Never had just a straight pipe, but I did change my old B8200 from vertical to horizontal (and a 90 degree lateral tip ) to get the exhaust out of my face.

I did have the exhaust pointed down initially and I still got blowback. Maybe i will just install a taller pipe on top of the muffler to get it up and away. Thanks all

Tow of my tractors have short vertical exhausts and I learned quickly my respirator is my best friend…

Your tractor has a muffler, use it. The muffler mounts to the exhaust manifold on a square bolt pattern. Turn it 90 degrees so it points straight up and put a taller pipe on the top..

Several of the 2TR YM machines have the exhaust pipe going straight up.

I currently have my exhaust verticle after it being horizontal for a while. I will keep it verticle, but I will take off the short extention and put a taller stack on along with a exhaust cap

Put a cap on it now, if water gets in there, costly repairs you would have to endure.

I keep it parked in my garage plus it currently has the factory short and angled extension

When I got my YM155d the exhaust was horizontal and at times it would blow back in my face, so I positioned it vertically and that actually made it worse, so I put it back the way it was horizontally. I think the key here is to have a longer pipe vertically to solve the problem. I left if horizontally as it was the lesser of the 2 evils, and I use that little guy in the woods and don't want a taller exhaust, more to catch it on and or break it.
