Good morning!!!!

27 outside right now, high today may get to upper 30's. Cold, but calm. No wind helps.

Real job, lawyers, paperwork and domestic stuff on the agenda. Sigh...

The moon is nice these past few mornings, and nights. Fitting they call it the Wolf Moon. The coyotes were having a ball last night. Need to check the game cams this AM.

Hope all have a great day, be safe.

good morning, 19 going to 30 moon is spectacular bright

Grandson 13 broke his ankle stepping into a hole yesterday. Currently at Johns Hopkins hospital. Hope to get an update soon

Filled up tractor with 15 gallons of diesel. Gauge was at 1/4 level and did not move to full position. Drove around the big field a few times and it slowly moved up to the full position.

Surprised a Raccoon hiding in the pond overflow pipe and blinded by the headlight it was just sitting there while I was watching with Cody. Cute with very puffy fur.

Got electric bill yesterday. Shazam, highest ever, but not highest usage. Used same amount a few yrs back and bill was $200 less.
Mostly, geo units keep up until real cold. Upstairs is 2° below setting right now, but probably 20° out. My weather station periodically drops connection to internet, so it says 28° 4 hrs ago. Weather app says 20°
Downstairs unit happy with pellet stove running.
Wife reset the weather station, 21.6°

Going to warm up this weekend, then get down to single digits next week.

Good morning, the low is 14 and going to a high of 19°F. Wind WSW 4 mph. Periods of snow. Snowing right now with 1/2" on the deck. They are calling for less than an inch.

The dump run has been moved up to Wednesday again this week. Junior is going to see his quack. At least she is easy on the eyes.

I am having a little trouble with the door latch on the Kioti. I'll start another thread about it.

An energy conservation day today for sure.

Have a safe day all

good morning all
late start, opened eyes and saw lots of light out, confused, did I sleep that late?
no, just moonlight bouncing off the snow.
I had woken up at 1am sneezing constantly. Went through a lot of tissues, and finally took
a antihistamine and that worked. Have no idea where that came from.

I drove down to Mt Holly NJ yesterday to look at a used Escalade since it was priced same as Tahoe.
beautiful vehicle, but was very surprised that it didn't ride any better than my car. Those gigantic 295-22
tires I'm sure are the cause, and make car look like drug runner delivery. I didn't enjoy driving it so no.
Today headed out to look at a Ford Expedition, both vehicles around 2018 and about one third cost of new.
These are big suvs and not very efficient, but the Ford will tow 9000 pounds so that is a future solution for a
travel trailer. The Expedition is an F150 underneath.

the used car dealer I saw yesterday has multiple locations, is respected, has very nice inventory, always the nicest stuff,
but they have a horrible reputation for screwing up or not delivering titles in a reasonable time. I read all the complaints on
the BBB site and really got turned off. Should be easier dealing with a PA dealer today.
Expedition was traded to an Acura dealer and it's been there two months now.
am trying to buy something cheap enough I can just write a check, and that is sure limiting. Car interest rates still high, above 7 percent
it seems. Am trying to minimize debt in fixed income retirement.
if I do like the suv today, might have to rearrange a few things in garage to get it to fit.
The Expedition is blue, my favorite color so good omen.

Good Morning,
Ct, 20 to start going to 30 ! But at least the sun is coming up, a shred of good news ! 😉 Yesterday the sun didn’t last long, maybe an hour or so, not long enough!

Thanks for all the well wishes on my test today, so do need to get going and changed and clean off the kitchen table where I will be taking the exam ! Will report back in later, hopefully with some good news ! 🙏

Morning all, 24 going up to 31 and cloudy some wind

M7040 - hope GS heals quickly

Might get out to clean up the cuttings around the pool. Still need to trim the fig tree.
Still need to work on the little chainsaw.
Just need to feel better.

Be well,

Good morning! 29˚F, winds shifting from N to W, high in the upper 50's, partly cloudy.

Sunday the cold comes again with a vengeance, predictions are in the low 20s for next week.

We were supposed to be on the FireWise line this morning clearing brush but it was called off last night when the temps started dropping below freeing at sunset. 29˚ indeed is too cold for outdoor volunteer work in Texas. This would have been my first one since shoulder surgery and the first after the holidays. Next week will probably be canceled also.

Need to uncover all plants again till Sunday.

Good morning TBN!!
29 and going to be low 40s today with lots of sun.
Got the usual steps with the dog and he got even more with a couple of 4 wheeler rides.
I did get some seat time yesterday. Got the tractor started okay with some help from my cheap little jump pack.
Still learning how to take care of the snow in our driveway. I don't get much practice as we don't usually get much snow. First year I used the box blade and I made it into nothing but ice. I couldn't even get the tractor up the drive in L4 because I just packed it so tight. The next time I used the FEL and did better but scraped a lot of gravel. I think I hit it right this year. I opened the 4 in one all the way and used the back edge. Much better results.
Going to a buddies house up the road to try it on pavement. I don't think I am doing to bad as it is self taught with this being the third real snow since I bought the tractor less then 10 years ago.
Watched the moon and Mars rise from the warmth of the house. I have a good telescope about 10 feet from the door but just couldn't bring myself to bundle up and go out. I really should have as it was really cool.
Time ticking and I am running late, so off to another cup and to see what the day holds!

Have a great and safe day!!

It's fairly easy to get rid of those 22's and drop down to 17 or 18's on many vehicles. My wifes SUV (sedan) came on 21's, I put on 18's for the snow tires and many people have had 17's fit and clear the brakes which are often the limiting factor.

67°F and .39 inches rain.

Had o wait most of the day for Sears, but he did arrive about 2pm. Parts ordered so back 2/3. Looks like I may have to find alternative coverage as they claim my Master Protection (cap 10) plan isn’t renewable. Any suggestions?

Enjoyable happy hour. Neighbor has nice house, beautiful location, but a nightmare road to get there. Road isn’t passable with bad rain. Neighbor really interesting. Retired from a high tech job, only 50 yo. Rural living very new to him. enthusiastic.

Hope to get my generator transfer switch finished today and installed. Been slower going than I anticipated.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

successful morning with one glitch.
bought a 2018 Expedition with 66k miles, top platinum model, 400hp ecoboost, cream quilted leather interior, medium blue outside
another blue car...
the asking price after two months had come down 2k. I asked for 1k off the current asking price.
they said the typical nonsense, yada yada and no we can't do that.
I get up to leave.
oh, well maybe we can. ;)
will pick it up on Saturday

in the middle of which I found I had lost my driver's license since prior day when I took it out to look at other car.
called that dealership, no we don't have it. Sigh. 40 bucks later and ordered online.

car had three different brand tires on it, so clearly they all must be replaced.
Will look to see what smaller rims would cost but likely too much. I really only want 20's; 45 series tires
are a blowout waiting to happen on our potholed country roads.

dealing with car people is exhausting. funny, this sales guy was 90 years old, says he does this to get out of the house.
He clearly knew nothing about the car but was very pleasant and got the job done. they wanted 3700 dollars for an extended warranty.
no...comes with three month full warranty. going to go over everything carefully before that is out.
so I left with a little discount and zero add ons. That felt successful.

29 deg and sunny.
thought NWS said we would get some wind, but nothing much.

Did fill up the pellet box on porch, was down to 4 bags. Been burning them faster lately. Had to switch bucket to forks on tractor. While warming up tractor, also warmed up the truck a bit, since haven't driven it lately.

Brought my Eufy camera in to charge again, solar panel just doesn't seem to be charging it.

My brother was at Dad's and checked on things there, including replacing batteries in one of my cameras.

Doesn't tire size produce different speedo readings?
Depends on the rim size and tire size.

Good Afternoon,
Well good news, I passed the exam on the first shot ! Which is good news for the FD, because if I failed they would have to pay for another course !

I didn’t pass by much, after studying, watching numerous videos, taking pages of notes , reading and studying my notes over and over, and re watching the course videos , I managed to pass with a score of 73 ! 😉

So the proctor that administers the course to me was Indian, and with my poor hearing and his Indian accent , that just made it that much more difficult for me ! At one point I had to have Kathleen come into the kitchen to interpret for me !
The certification is good for 5 years, and I have already vowed never to take this course and exam again ! Especially not at 79 ! At that point it will be someone else’s problem !

Ken, hope you feel better soon ! 🙏

Well heck let me help spend your money;
These were the factory stock sizes.
This info is from: 2018 Ford Expedition - Wheel & Tire Sizes, PCD, Offset and Rims specs
1736885907247.png

So you could easily drop down to 18's which are much less expensive tires then the 20 or 22's
255/70R18 are the same height as the 22's so no speedometer error.
This is from this site which has an incredible amount of tire and rim sizing tools;
Tire Size Comparison
The late model Bronco 2022-2024. F150 from 2004-2025, and Expedition from 2003-2025.
The back spacing would have to be checked and verified but facebook market place and craigs list has numerous wheels available. I use facebook market place for many of the different wheels that I have purchased and sold. I bought two sets this fall finding the correct ones for my wifes car, and I have sold 3 sets with a forth likely going out this Saturday.

One of my Arlo cameras the solar charger quit working and actually was draining the battery, had to go back to swapping batteries on that one
