somehow that popped up and it looked pretty good. Don won't take me there so....
Looking good! I would enjoy.
Since I'm finished with PT and my shoulder feels good so I will start FireWise brush clearing again next week when they start up again after the holidays and cold weather. We reduce the fire load so we won't have a California. I wonder if the California neighborhoods now would be interested in volunteering to clear their underbrush. They can't control the winds but they can control the fire load.
Glad your shoulder and knees are good to go. I sick the squirrels with a 9 lb female chihuahua, that let's 'em have it with both lungs barking as she chases them up trees. Really fun to watch.
That was exactly the situation in Paradise, CA, Don. My friend that used to live there kept his yard clear of pine needles, but just over his backyard fence, all his neighbors had a foot thick layer of it. They called it mulch, and would do nothing to clear it. I suspect that is a pretty common situation in most of what is burning now in LA.
Most older homes are not very ember tight, either. The new place down south was built in '81, and has big open vents under the eves at both ends. They've got screens over them that'll keep out insects and vermin, but not embers. They're on my list to upgrade, but then so is clearing off the four inches of redwood tree duff inn the back yard. And also installing steel fencing next to the house to break the fire chain from the cedar boards that was used for the rest of the yard. The asphalt shingles on the roof are only a couple years old, so that's no worry, but a lot of neighborhoods still have homes with cedar shakes for roofing. Doesn't take much of a spark to get those going.
Hope CA figures out that the pine needles will burn like jet fuel soon.....and put some water in the reservoirs.
24.3 ended with a little more than 3 in of snow very powdery playtime maybe. Still need to go to store today PO Box got some bills to pay.

Thanks and I had to do a double take to see the equipment.
Good morning! Up too early also. 36ËšF, heading to 60Ëš, cloudless sky, S the W then N winds, might freeze again tonight and for sure Tuesday morning.
Had an old high-school friend visit yesterday. He and his wife just celebrated their 50 year anniversary and live in N. Houston now. Little did we know that our high school sweethearts would tolerate us for 50 years. They will be moving to our neighborhood in the spring.
Kyle will remember the area where he lived growing up - off Anderson Rd close to S. Post Oak.
Don, do you remember the stock car racetrack off of old hwy 521? Also on 2234 (just west of 521) there was a "Gulf Salt" mine, where they sent hot water down a hole and pulled out salt from below.
48 years next week following week Holly turns 70. 48 years still seems like only yesterday
Prayers for you and Holly, hoping for good days on your anniversary and her birthday.
Mom is still very lethargic. Wants to be in her bed, while they want her at least in her wheel chair. I took my pastor down there, and she was having lunch with 2 other ladies. He prayed for all of them, and then gave them communion. They were all very happy.
Looking into possibly a "LadyBird" deed to try and save her home from probate. Still anxious from the unknowns. I need to try to set up an appointment maybe with an attourney that Don sent me a name.
I sure am fortunate.
One buddy gave me his bigger Pitboss pit, which is working fine now with a new auger motor $26. He bought a small one to fit in his garage better.
I had to tell another buddy who was offering to give me his old 16' Glastron Carlson, that I had no time for it, especially right now. It could stand a complete restoration, which would be hundreds of hours. Heck, I still have Don's dad's boat and motor to fix up.... Sear's Ted Wilson 5hp aircooled engine.
Another childhood friend is giving me his creampuff 2009 Yamaha FJR1300 sport touring bike. It is not the friend who has an identical bike with a hidden turbocharger system that I have reported on prior. This stock bike is like new, with new battery, cover, new tires. I'm like, "WOW"! I think I will ride it for a while, and if and when he passes (having kidney function problems), I will sell it and give his wife the proceeds. I've told him at least 3 times to sell it or trade it in. He just wants to see me riding again. He and I have been riding together since 1975. I won't be able to join RNG's club though....
RNG, hope your friend improves and gets to go home soon. Glad that you are able to help him.
Popgadget, If you can't fix it, It ain't broke. Good job on the weld table. Thanks for sharing your stories with us.
I got the son out yesterday to help with daughter's car maintenance. I pulled it into the barn. Lit the patio propane heater (finally, those things are a pain to light even with a flexible bic lighter). I changed the oil and filter, front and rear brake pads in 2 hours taking my time. I've been trying to teach him a little at a time, but it is not his interest. Taught him how to torque the lugnuts in a star pattern with my old timey cast aluminum handle analog SnapOn torque wrench. I love that thing for that application. Easy to read dial. Would be better if it had a white background though.
The best part was I told him, "We just saved your sister at least $500 in labor. Brake pads, oil and filter were about $90. from RockAuto.
Drew, I believe you love auto shopping.
Billy, glad Della loads up by herself now. David's dogs too I hope.
Ok, I'm rambling too much now.
Prayers for the team, the sick, our country, Israel and Ukraine.
