just talked to neighbor she was there when they got the person out and into a regular car, no fd ambulance was called. another person reported on social media that three police cars came to investigate.

Good (Friday) morning. Overnight Low of 9.6C and it's presently 14.5C (heading to 18C, apparently), partly overcast & calm. I've had a brief morning shower but it's too early to check the gauge.

The ute's loaded up and I'll head over to the Rectory about 0840. With 2-3 people, and the right tools, it will hopefully be a quick job.

Which is a good thing as I need to get Penelope the Pussybeast over to the Vet for a 1230 vaccination/check-up appointment. Cross-fingers I'm able to catch her.

having fun planning tomorrow's travels, no more endless long stretches, I'm headed for the Black Hills and Mt Rushmore. On the way I'm stopping at Wall Drug because they have rv parking. I'm sure there's some overpriced stuff I can buy there. Already scoped out rv parking at Mt Rushmore, ten bucks, fine, plus a decent walk to gift shop.
where I will immerse myself in the finest of Americana
most of which will have been made in Hunan Province.

I need some touristy stuff to take home and give away. I think something from Mt Rushmore would be nice.

but tomorrow I get into the real mountains and the Holy Smoke campground is only four miles from Mt Rushmore. The plan is to leave fairly early the next morning and go ten minutes to the national site, get my pics and get my geegaws.

I believe the major factor almost never discussed is the Parents. What did they know or allow or not allow and how did they handle it. Were they too hands on or hands off?
Many of us grew up with guns in school, but I sure don’t recall many instances of misuse.

I suffered with bullying from 7th grade through 9th grade and NEVER did I even think of taking my Lee-Enfield to school. I was taught that you settled differences with your fists.

Late getting on today, but I have a new geothermal unit sitting in my garage. And got a $400 bill from the guys that came to repair the old unit and found the leak in the coil. Thought that was a little excessive for an hour visit.
Now my work begins.

Was a beautiful day to drive down to Roanoke and back. Probably was within a mile of where Buppies was working.

Something of a followup on my LS. Tech still awaiting parts, anyway.
Suggested I do a manual regen, so I did. Regen was about 20 minutes, appeared normal. So I decided a test work run. Mowed a heavy area with rotary

Worked about 30 minutes, no problem

Passed info on to tech

Will work it again, hopefully longer tomorrow

Quiet day again today, after a quick house cleaning this morning went back into energy conservation mode. It was warm enough this afternoon (80°) had to turn the AC back on. The next seven days is looking pretty good but we could use some rain.

No plans for this evening, lost in you tube probably.

LOL, yea seems there would be at least 1 altercation regardless of grade level.

A bit of clarification, I didn’t mean to imply any particular set of parents bore responsibility, but there has been such a drastic change in how kids are raised (trying not to get political) that I think parents maybe disadvantaged. Back in the day most of us abided by same rules and most any observant adult could and would apply corrective action. Would love to see a very broad based study on effects of so many changes and how behaviors have changed. But that isn’t politically possible.

Was 67°F and some dense fog this morning, which burned off quickly enroute to 91° today. The slide back down the thermometer starts tomorrow, and we'll have highs in the mid-70s this weekend. I'm OK with that.

Good evening all. 70ºF for the star, partly cloudy, 1.5 in rain in gauge, light breeze. Light wind, gust moderate to brisk, sky became overcast then partial clearing late in day, high temp was 89ºF, HI 94ºF. Made coffee to start day. putter, bike ride 25 miles, lunch, napped, mowed back yard, Cleaned of for dinner with group and joined them, 4 more people joined group. Younger brother coming to visit tomorrow, may not post again until Sunday.
Ron Glad install went well, sorry you had to read the manual Documentation that helps is a lost art. Hope you get door done soon. Hope grocery shopping. Nice woodpecker pic

Coffee is brewing. 62° with light rain this morning. Heading to 68° with continued light rain. .15" rain since yesterday afternoon. Got louvered doors cleaned yesterday. Mowed backyard grass. Golf Cart batteries were fully charged. But will not move as it should. Need to do some more inspection of cart wiring. Will try to get at that today.

up early, for a funny reason
was up earlier to use bathroom, getting chilly in rv, put the heat on low
about 4am the a/c unit turns on, the little heater had warmed up the rv enough to turn it on. That woke me up and I turned that off totally then of course. Going to be highs of 75 next few days, and the shorts go off and the jeans go on.

today should be fun, watching the Black Hills forest start to appear and the flat land goes away. Am stopping at Wall Drug just for fun, they seem to have plenty of parking. Then on to Keystone SD, four miles from Mt Rushmore.

I've got a full tank of gas and a clean windshield, ready for the day

Good morning, the low is 60 and going to a high of 64°F. Wind S 9 mph. Periods of rain. Raining now.

There is not enough room inside the shelter for two ladders, (we are both over 6' tall but not tall enough to unbolt the roof of the Kioti), so the light install goes on the 'back burner' for a few days.

David are you running your tractor at PTO Rpm?

I guess I will check on my stock and jump back down the youtube rabbit hole.

my sister got me to make an appt while near her in CA to get both the covid and adult flu shot, like I had last year.
still, yet, so far....haven't had covid.

55 outside this AM, mid 70's expected. Have not seen any weather reports these last few days, but I suspect it will be dry and nice for today. TGIF.

Today is stick patrol and burn pile runs. Have lots of piles in the yards around the houses. Easy, simple stuff. I hope to get the lawn mowers out after that. Last evening I managed to get to the drainage ditch and front entrance way. Got some of the street done too. Me and VDOT just cannot seem to keep the roadway clean and cut. I know I should not be doing it, but encroaching greenery on the roadway makes for hazardous driving. We kept calling on VDOT to cut back the trees but gave up. They sent a crew out a few months back who started, did a few hundred feet, stopped and left all the cuttings in the run off ditch. Had to call them back, again about that. Needless to say, last night I was out there trying to cut it back. What a mess. No further comments on service.

Also managed to get a coat of paint on the Milk House shower area. Need another one this AM. Grasses should be on the agenda when the sun comes up and the yards dry out. Just a Harry Homeowner sort of start to the weekend.

Hope all have a good day. Safe travels to those on the roads, safe operating and no equipment troubles for all! TGIF, but I said that earlier. LOL.
