I have one pintle/lunette setup and it allows for about an inch more slop side-to-side, though it's still going to depend on the weight of the trailer whether or not you can wrestle it into place if you're on the edge.

Probably cheaper to get a back up camera tbh, then you don't have to worry about it for any trailer.
I've been "planning" to get one for my truck for about 6 years now...
My service truck has an aftermarket back up camera. The display is also a mirror so it just replaces the existing rear view mirror.

The camera is mounted just above the reciever, so it gives me a really good view point of the ball when backing up to a trailer.

Another nice thing about it, is I can turn the display on manually which allows me to monitor the the latch and chains while hauling.

I looked at Amazon, and all they’ve got is piss, poor descriptions, that’s what I hate about Amazon off brand crap that gives terrible descriptions, you never know if it’s any good, and I hate returning crap

I have an Amazon B/U camera on my 2004 Chev it's wireless easy setup and works great.

I wouldn't call it cheap, just less expensive.
I also have one on my tractor.

I installed a wired backup camera with its own monitor on my 92' K3500 when I replaced the flatbed and it is the best thing I have on the truck for hooking up the trailer. Got it from Amazon, it has worked flawlessly and was not overly expensive. I really like being able to see what is going on back there anytime I want.

As cheap as they are now I see no reason for anyone not to add it to an older vehicle.

The guy with the sht eating grin may be the one who is saying "I told you so". Or the one dumb enough to load that pickup with that tree trunk.

Well, the good news is that, judging on the surroundings, they can afford to just replace the truck.

People who make bad life decisions are usually consistent in doing so.

That guy underneath the truck is probably trying to weld it back together.
