My service truck has an aftermarket back up camera. The display is also a mirror so it just replaces the existing rear view mirror.I have one pintle/lunette setup and it allows for about an inch more slop side-to-side, though it's still going to depend on the weight of the trailer whether or not you can wrestle it into place if you're on the edge.
Probably cheaper to get a back up camera tbh, then you don't have to worry about it for any trailer.
I've been "planning" to get one for my truck for about 6 years now...
The camera is mounted just above the reciever, so it gives me a really good view point of the ball when backing up to a trailer.
Another nice thing about it, is I can turn the display on manually which allows me to monitor the the latch and chains while hauling.
