Does anyone here have information on front axle load rating for M59 TLB? My local TN dealer just shrugs and says they don't know. Messicks is going to call Kubota technical rep for an answer but nothing so far. Ive looked over operator and Workshop manual and found no info on front axle rating.

Also looking for front wheel rim ( size 16.5 x 8.25 by 8 bolt ) load rating so I can choose between 10 or 12 ply tires. I'm not interested in paying for 12 ply if I can't use their higher load rating.

I'm pretty sure they are at least 12-ply tires as your machine will be close to 12K lbs fully loaded

Here are the stock tires from Kubota:
I could go look at the tires on one if it is tires that you are curious about rather than the front axle load rating.
The original tires were Titan HD with R8 rating @ 60psi.

rScotty,

Thanks for reply. I had a front tire dismount while picking up a large rock with grapple. Severely biased rock to grapple's R side and R tire valve blew out of rim before I traveled with rock. Before I buy 2 new tires, I want to know wheel rim load rating rating and front axle load rating so I know what load range and load index tires are appropriate without paying for tires with load rating way beyond rim rating. Will also be replacing the pull in/ snap in rubber valve stems with brass over rubber bolt in stems.

Ive attached pic of damaged tire with missing valve after backing 1.5 miles out of woods. Also pic of the stamped info on rim. I understand the tire info but the remainder "171" and "042165 1" does not mean anything to me.

Kubota Customer Satisfaction just replied back to my email to them from earlier today so I'm posting it for those with the M59 machine.

Here is their contact info if you want to go that route
https://www.kubotausa.com/contact Then choose “Send us your question”

My Q to them:
Please provide information on front axle load rating for M59 TLB? I've looked through Operator and Workshop manuals and found no info on front axle rating. I’ve contacted my local Knoxville dealer with no result.

Also looking for front wheel rim ( size 16.5 x 8.25 by 8 bolt ) load rating so I can choose between 10 or 12 ply tires to match rim load rating.

Their answers:
Thank you for contacting Kubota Customer Satisfaction. I have included below the information you have requested.
  • Maximum permissible front axle load--lbs (kg): 4410 (2000)
  • Kubota tests wheel and rim combinations. The combo we market uses a Titan 4393D1 Tire on a 16.5 x 8.25 rim with a max load rating of 4140 lbs @60 PSI. The Titan 4393D1 is an 8 Ply.
Kind Regards,
Kubota Customer Satisfaction

So with their factory setup 8 ply tire each or either wheel and tire can carry the complete axle rated load, or to put it otherwise the tire and rim combination have twice the axle rating.

Not one to argue with answer directly from Kubota customer service, but I thought the front axle max load was a bit light in their response since each wheel, at 4140 Lbs, can almost fully load the front axle with max rated load of 4410 Lbs. The M59 loader max lift is 3968 Lbs at pivot pin so add in some front end weight from engine and your at the 4410 Lbs.

Guess 10 ply is more than sufficient and I'll be making sure I always keep the machine greased to minimize wear and tear.

Just curious what type of ballast you are running to minimize loading on the front end?

Rear tires loaded with Rim Guard. Machine came that way when I bought it out of PA with 230 hours on it. The Backhoe with KX series excavator buckets or 9 foot box blade provide back end weight. Machine scales with hoe and 6 ft root rake at 10,693 per multiple passes across different scales.

Loaded rear tires don’t reduce front wheel loading. Only additional weight rearward of the rear axle does.
