Thought it might be nice to have this thread for us to share tips and suggestions to make ownership and operation easier for others.
Some of these might seem like "no brainers" to seasoned tractor and implement owners, but to others they may be welcomed.

Here's a few I've learned over the last 8 years of ownership:
  • ALWAYS do the scheduled maintenance, especially oil, filters, fluids, grease
  • Check the air pressure in your tires (I neglected this and found I had almost no air pressure just fluid fill)
  • If you have an FEL, lubricate the leveling rod so it doesn't squeak (thanx to another poster for this one)
  • If you don't have a suspension seat.....get one !
  • Grease/lubricate your linkages for 3 pt, hydrostat, etc
  • Don't "lug" your engine (not enough RPM's) My sweet spot is 1750-2000. Yours may differ.
  • Crawl under your tractor to inspect for debris, loose fittings, wires, etc.
Hope these help some of you, or at least remind you of some things to check.

Would love to hear your tips and suggestions!

Always, always, always CLEAN fuel.
Replacing injectors or pumps & fuel lines is very expensive.

You mean, FILTER the fuel you buy? or don't buy or use dirty fuel? I get mine in a 5 gallon can straight from the local Royal Farms.

Carry loads low to the ground.

Venture abroad wisely. A 4WD tractor with R-1 tires CAN get stuck. It could be in a place where few are able to come and help.

I used a Mr Funnel for five years. NEVER caught anything in the funnel. Forty three years out here now. Never had a problem with diesel fuel. I think it has a whole lot to do with where you get your fuel.

I do treat all my diesel fuel. Regular gas also. Both are stored in original Jerry cans. Got six Jerry cans from the military when we lived in Alaska. Brought them with us when we moved down here.
