Thankfully I didnt need to bury anything. I did get to use it some, dragging logs off the trails. It never ends, seems like everyday there are more trees down across the trails. Up to 18 hours and today makes 3 weeks Ive owned it.

So, Saturday was the last nice day in our area for a week or so. I decided to do a few things with my baby digger. Most of these guys have an issue with too much heat, so getting the exhaust out of the engine compartment should help.. looked in the barn for the right dia. piece of pipe.. Got lucky and found a piece, cut it to right length and drove it in the muffler. Removed the burn guard from muffler, and in the future , I will put heat barrier around muffler. I also moved the new tach, engine temp, hour meter. The cable was just barely long enough to put it where I want it. Easy to install and gives a lot of important info. I also reverse the polarity of the cooling fan on the hydraulic. cooler. It was blowing the wrong way. Then I tracked down to the brush pile, and pushed in all the partially burned logs, to make a nice burnable pile. The baby X is perfect for this because there are lots of nails from previous fires, I don't think I can get a flat track.. Then I started the fire and then sadly tracked back up to the barn, it was getting dark. 18 hours now and 3 weeks of owning it.. what did you do with your baby~X?? 20231216_132220-1.jpg20231216_132234.jpg20231216_133424-1.jpg20231216_140610.jpg20231215_155358-1.jpg20231216_171419.jpg20231216_185129.jpg

I have been tearing out a jumbled up stone wall and trying to re-stack best I can. Needed to level up a BFR and the Kymron was just like having a buddy there.
Very impressed with this XH14. Plenty of power. Surprises me what it will grab and lift. Only 5.5 hours on it so far, but pleased. Did pop one of the tracks off in the first 90 minutes so now know to keep a close eye on them until they are broken in. Have tensioned them 4 times now in the last 4 hours of use.

Thats a nice machine. Are your tracks manual adjust or a grease gun? What engine is in the Kymron?

Are these baby digger machines stable or tippy?

Compared to a larger machine, they are less stable. They can easily get you in trouble if you are not careful. The power to weight ratio will allow you lift more than you should in some cases. Where I use my L12 we have lots of steep hills and I have done well, but I always take my time and think about what I am attempting. The width is only 36" on many of these small machines. You can get them with an option that expands the tracks out to about 48". That would really help IMO.

Grease adjust. Popped another track off today. At least it's getting easier to fix. Its a Briggs engine. 13.5 or 14 I believe.

You get use to the feel. If you try to lift too much they will tip but keep the load close to the ground and you aren't tipping anywhere.

I have the grease adjusters also. my tracks were both loose when my digger was delivered. I pumped them up and almost 4 weeks later and 18 hours I have not lost a track. do you jump-turn?
