Managed to land on his tires... I'd call it a win!

I had a dump truck nearly turn itself over in my own back yard, several hundred feet from the nearest asphalt, and behind an old stone wall with no direct path for retrieval. Idiot forgot to unlock his tailgate before raising bed, and only stopped because I started waiving and yelling when I saw his front tires leaving the ground. Not saying driver experience had anything to do with that video, but it seems some businesses will put any untrained fool in dump trucks.

Not upping you but these are the one I used, I would think they are better since its rubber to rubber and not steal to rubber but I used metal screw to secure them and lots of them snap off after some time I would think they where too tight and the vibration cause them to snap.

Yeah, those are definitely better. I use those on battery cables and audio stuff, as well as hoses and tubing.

I added reflectors on my log splitter, but no lights. My small (4x6) trailer lights gave me grief from day one until I finally replaced the regular push-in bulb type with LED's. They work EVERY time now.

What do you think went wrong with yours? Usually, the only trouble I ever see with trailer wiring is corrosion at the connection points, on trailers left outdoors, or UV breakdown of the wiring insulation if they're left in the sun. Both of those failures take years, not days!
The cheap Chinesium "wire" that comes with many trailer light kits will self destruct within a year or so.

mine didn't take two weeks, I completely rewired my trailer and tested the lights then parked it. Two weeks later I hooked it up to make a run to the lumber yard but the lights didn't work so I pulled it up to the shop and was looking for something I did wrong but the only thing I did wrong was not reading the package to see where it was made because the ground wire was rotten I broke it with my hands all the way up to the plug.

Isn't that one of those small scale RC trucks?
Good call. The way the camera so easily runs down the hill as the action is underway. And the preposterous loading of "boulders" up above the dump bed. It's not a real truck.

...the ground wire was rotten...
I used to to have a heck of a problem with my trailer lights. Not sure if it's because I have a tilt trailer or not but I finally ended up running a ground wire straight to the lights. Tied it into where it bolts up. Have not had an issue since and I think the lights are brighter, too...

If it was real, the cab would be smashed very hard.
In that soft loose sand?
Those trucks are built pretty solid.

I could not tell that even the windshield was damaged, so to me, it does look a little cartoonish

That seems more likely! Would a cameraman really be there to go down the grade parallel to the falling truck?

The huge boulder looks out of proportion for loading on a real truck. And a driver would have to be nuts to back that unbalanced load so far off the edge.

Just the way the camera moves with the truck down hill as it falls you can tell that it can't be at full scale. It would have to be a coordinated drone shot or boom shot to do that at full scale.

Safety directors husband was in a car wreck. He got rear ended. He was in his 4 door pickup. She was driv8ng a small sport utility.

Once the dust settled the lady that rear-ended him was looking for her purse.

They found her purse in the back seat of the pickup.

Purse went through the windshield of the sport utility, through the back window of the truck, broke the headrest on the front passenger seat, and then fell back onto the floor of the back seat.

My first question to the safety director was " What the F did she have in her purse????? A brick????"
Yes, usually 3 or 4.:sneaky:

At that point you need "blue hair" and should be peering out through the steering wheel :😀
I once tried to explain to my kids what I meant by a "bluehair" because they'd never seen what I meant and only had seen young people with blue... pink... green... purple... hair

I'll note that the camera isn't moving smoothly; if you watch the horizon the camera looks like it's being carried by a moving person. There's likely another access road they're on.

The dump piston compresses and expands as the truck lands on the bed; I think it took the hit.
Personally I can't tell behind the dirt if the glass got shattered or not.
The wheels definitely move some but I'm not sure how much suspension effect to expect in that soft dirt.

I suspect the guy taking the video knew how bad an idea this was too and that's why he was prepared

I remember back in the late 70's around Ft. Lauderdale. The number of mid-late 60's olds delta 88's, 98's, buick electras and chrysler Imperials driving around that at first glance looked like no one was in the driver's seat. When you got up behind them ... sure enough two hands just visible on the wheel and a bit of blue hair about level with the hands. I was a mechanic at the time & asked a few of these old ladies when they came in for tune-ups/oil changes why they didn't sell & get something smaller & easier for them to drive & the answer was always the same ..." My poor (Herbert/Ralph/Henry/Stanley), rest his soul, told me that this was the best car to ever come out of Detroit and he made me promise I would never sell it. Our daughter/son/grandkid can do what they want when my time comes to join him, but until then I'm honoring my promise."
