Replacing Halogen headlights (built-in, ROPS mounted) with LEDs? (JD 4600)

I have a JD4600 and I’m wondering if anyone has done this or not. Is there a kit to replace the ROPS lights and the headlights?

I bought a set of LED lights to mount on the ROPS bar, but they are still sitting in the box! I know this doesn't help, but at least there's someone else that has started on this. These lights have been sitting for about 5 years. It's easy to order stuff, but then more difficult to make the time to act on it.

I can't speak to your situation but when I bought my 1066, it had (non working) lights on the fender and some wimpy lights up front.

I replaced the entire wiring harness and at same time, replaced all lights with LED's.

It was an "OMG" difference when all are turned on. It really illuminates the field.

If you can get what fits, I think it's a no-brainer.

To replace the lights, do you need a different power configuration? Or can I just wire the new bulbs and plug them into the old wiring?

Yes, I used original wiring as the LED takes way less power than halogen. 2 on the ROPS facing forward and back on each side for a total of 4 and it is plenty bright on mine. Never use the headlights in the hood. Originally I wanted a light bar on the front of the canopy also but decided that would be overkill. I love LED flood lights.

Ah. That’s great news. I have two on the ROPS facing forward and will replace those first. I’ll have to see if the headlights on the 4600 can be replaced with LEDs, too. Anyone know where I can get those?

Expect you can. I did on my 4300 and likely the same.
Remove a bulb and get the number, then pick up LED bulbs that cross reference to that number.

Hmm. Ok. I’ll check with my JD dealer and see what can be done on cross-referencing a bulb to a LED version. They should know.

Update: I ordered the bulbs and will put them into the ROPS lights that I have.

You. I read your message that you didn’t change the headlights.. rather, only the ROPS-mounted lights.

Ok. I plan to do the same. Having the extra light in the winter will be a big win - that it won’t drag down the battery if I leave them on without the engine running.

Unfortunately the bulbs do not work. My lights in my ROPS are halogens.

Not at all. The bar lights do heat up enough.

I did this for my headlights. the oem 1s were rather dull. I found Tractor supply carried led lights and mounted them in place of the original headlights. and then to be extra sure I added a 2nd pair facing forward on the rollback as well. its like daylight when they are on.
