It truly is random testing for me. I have gone for many years without being selected, but I’ve won the lottery three times in the last two years.
I posted the story a couple weeks ago, but I got “randomly” picked four times in a row, each time while I was on vacation, and I was able to reverse the “why do you keep taking vacation while being randomly picked” to “YOU are the one ones who approve my vacation request I submit for the entire year that I submit on January 1 — why do YOU keep “randomly” picking my name when you know I am not going to be here?”

never got “randomly” picked again. Weird…

Good Evening Guys,
Oh Boy Kilroy, I can see it now, couple years down the road and we will be seeing you on Forged In Fire !!;) All of TBN will be your fan base !!:)

Lou, it seems funny after being a toolmaker/modelmaker for most of my adult life, that I am being checked for drug use in my second career ! I dont know who dreams up all these rules and laws, but it certainly seems like overkill to me !

Had grandkids over for awhile today ! Everyone had pizza, they all seem to like that, especially when Nana is buying !:giggle:

Hope all have a great evening!! 🙏
About month trick or treat. :)

49 outside this AM. May get to 70 today. 88% humidity.

Nice moon out, will go enjoy the moo of the cows, moon and coffee on the front porch.

Nothing on the agenda, need to make a dump run.

Hope all have a great day. Be safe. Those ailing - wishing you will get better.

Good Morning!

God has given us another chance to get it right (or at least not screw up too badly).

60.7F going to almost 80, partly/mostly sunny forecast.
Yesterday’s forecast for clouds was incorrect, it was mostly sunny all day.

so far the repair job on the pipe assembly on the hot tub seems to be holding, but I did see some water where I opened up on the other side, maybe it is associated? Since it started putting water out three days ago, plus leakage when I removed it. It was one of those things that had two rigid o-ring-sealed compressin elbows joined by the semi-flexible white PVC pipe, and the leak was where the flex went into one of the elbows. I dug out around the connection with a pick probe, cleaned it three times with primer, and dribbled in four layers of PVC glue. Over that I applied a layer of JB Plastic Weld ebony, and before that set I wrapped it with several wraps of polyester thread (the same kind used in tires), then applied another layer of epoxy over that. I am pretty sure that should solve that problem.

I was unable to remove the anode on the water heater - the previous homeowners never replaced it either, since I had to exhume it from some rigid foam insulation in order to get a socket on it. spent about 45 minutes (spread out over several hours) Trying to remove it, including multiple applications of penetrating oil, repeated tapping with a brass drift and hammer to shock the threads, screwing an eye ring to the wall and securing the relief valve to it with a strap so I wouldn’t spin the whole heater while turning the wrench .. AND of course I have 15/16 - 1-1/16 in 1/2” drive but my 1” socket is 3/8”… so I put a 3/8-1/2 adapter on my breaker bar and eventually resorted to a leverage enhancer… and work ceased when I inevitable sheared off the adapter… 🤬 So, later today, I guess I will finally break down and invest in a 1/2” impact driver (which I have successfully avoided owning to date because I prefer doing mechanical work on straight John Henry) — and a 1” socket in 1/2” drive, plus a replacement adapter. Yay…

I hope everyone has a happy healthy safe blessed day!

Good Morning Guys,
Ct, 46 to start going to 68, with mostly cloudy conditions, and yet more rain coming in tonite and tomorrow !

Good morning Paul, I would much rather have your luck than mine, the only bonus is that I get payed for going for all these tests !

Today an early meeting with our lawyer over these unclaimed funds that are listed under my deceased mothers name. Last week I received all the paperwork from the probate court in the town where she passed away. Pretty extensive, and it even states on the paperwork that I need a lawyer. If it was only a couple hundred dollars I wouldnt even bother, but the amount is almost $900. So we will try and to muddle through all the paperwork!

Yesterday I finally got the pool filter apart and cleaned up, and reassembled, so just need to cover everything with a tarp and some bungies and we are good to go until next May !

Also grass needs to be cut again, before the rain, and we are heading north again on Monday morning ! Im sure grass needs a final trim up north also !

Hope all have a blessed and safe day !

With all your work on the water heater, I'd also recommend pulling the bottom heating element out and cleaning out the bottom of the water heater. In this area the hardness in the water will build up as scale in the bottom till it encapsulates the heater element which then burns out.

It's a nice brisk 40F here this morning, Fall is definitely in the air.

Good Morning Kilroy,
I am pretty sure that those anodes were not made to be replaced !:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

I have never talked to anyone who had an easy time of that, usually the whole heater starts moving when you attempt to unloosen that ! Best of luck to you ! I just buy a new heater every 5 to 7 years !;)
