Least here it will be cold (and snowy) enough to preclude going outside unless bundled up...

Cool and rains every other day here. Only been above 90* maybe once. Rains so much, we can’t make good hay.

77 degrees is now described as “HOT” up here. Can you believe that?

Normally it’s 90+ for the entire month of July. Not anymore.

We've had more than our fair share in our county so far. The CDF is throwing everything they have at every incident -lots of air support. One incident about 10 miles away grew to 8200 plus acres. The heavy rains last winter resulted in an abundant fuel supply. We have stopped mowing as a preventative measure. Waiting for an August monsoon out of the Texas Gulf or Mexico about now.

It's an ever changing landscape when it comes to fuel load reduction and how and when to do it...

Every year abatement caused fires occur... mostly from metal striking rocks sparking be it brush cutter blades or dozer blade...

Much of the year earth disturbing is prohibited leaving a sometimes narrow window not to mention getting the work done too early can mean going back if late rains come.

Then there are considerations on herbicides if allowed plus grazing yes or no.

Some park goers are afraid of grazing animals and public works unions have claimed goats are taking away jobs...

Oh... God help you should endangered flora and or fauna be suspected or wetlands

A property owner almost lost a property by discing instead of cutting because discing disturbs too much... interesting that several years later this sensitive land was paved over for commercial warehouses...

Fire to the east of us has burned a little over 90 square miles, about 60,000 acres. It is 40% contained. Colder overnight temps and a heavy dew really helped last night.

Will be re-building fences with relatives that lost a lot of wood post.

Despite high Temps around here, they were higher this time last year. It is summer.

Looks like today has been the hottest day of my life. We hit 106.8 at my house today. My gauge doesn't show heat index, but I imagine it was around 120.

We haven't had any rain for about 30 days, but we do have a 60% chance for tomorrow. There aren't many yards that have green grass anymore. And trees are starting to die from the heat and drought.

There are some forest fires about 100 miles from me, and several communities have been evacuated.

We have broken almost every heat record there is this year.

I still prefer this heat/drought over a Cat III or higher storm.
