Hi all,

A friend has these and is going to sell so I'd like to try to identify the brand, etc. and maybe a value.
One is what looks like a 3 foot box blade. Quite heavy duty and in good shape.
The other is a small disc, maybe a few feet wide, and also seems in decent shape.
Thanks.

Looks like tuffline, or Monroe Tuffline. Disc is an offset disc. Tuffline box blades had that type of hitch. Their stuff was yellow also. But, just a guess.

In surprised that little box blade is cat1, but it looks like it is. Cat0 would have all 3 holes be 5/8”. That one looks more like the 7/8” bottom, 3/4” top which is cat1. I have never seen a cat1 box blade so narrow. It does look built well!

It is Cat 1 and it is also very heavy.
It was suggested it was cut down from a larger one but it really doesn't look like it.
Very odd one.

The narrow Disc Harrow looks like it was cut down too.

Note: 1) box frame 2) notched front but smooth rear pans. (discs)

3) The pipe may be the attachment point for a drag chain harrow.

What a lot of work!

When i saw the pipe my first thought was “ho cool the previous owner must i’ve place a bunch of gym weights on there “ i think that’s a better explanation then a tie off point.

why do you say the disk harrow was cut down ? i don’t see any evidence that would indicate that ?

Entirely possible, even likely. However, supplemental weight would be more effective located over the front row of pans which are notched for cutting/penetration, rather than the rear row of pans, which are smooth, therefore tend to roll rather than displace soil.
