Welcome IXLR8...Northampton or Accomack?
Northampton, near Exmore.

I have found the "Project Farm" videos interesting, informative and have spent way too much time looking at them.

I used a slide rule senior year in high school and the first two years of college. Could never remember how to use the dang thing as I didn't use it all that often and had to re-figure it out each time I did use it. It was one my father used in college and I still have it, somewhere.

is that a ham radio callsign?
Perhaps you have an Audi R8...
inquisitive minds need to know :)

I go through your area every time I drive to NC down the Delmarva.
slower part of the world, very nice area. Are you close to the water?
perhaps you use your tractor as part of your oyster business??
spent 20 years boating on Chesapeake, but more in Northern part, near Baltimore and Annapolis, kept boat on Bohemia and Sassafras Rivers.
You live in the home of the world's best crab cakes.

My first calculator was a slide rule. Still have it. My first digital calculator did not happened until after I was out of college for 10 years. It is long gone now.

Gonna guess a goodly percentage of our GM crew have worked a slide rule in our day. Seem to recall having a round one at some point.
Wonder how many of the current generation can work one?

All this chatter about snow, snow removal. Guess I should be grateful my rain pretty much takes care of itself.
Snow = outside, in the cold days for most of you.
Rain = inside, warmth and comfort for me. Better quit whining

Not a ham radio callsign.

"I accelerate" When I was 16 a Lamborghini Miura passed me that had that as a license plate. I tried to keep up with it.... not a chance. Seven years later a bought a '67 Miura for $14K, had it for 38 years. Parts availability became too much of an issue to keep it. Oh how I miss that car.

If you don't already know, it's best if you drive the speed limits (+4 max) on RT13 on the eastern shore. RT13 is reported to be the deadliest road in VA, now with lots of speed traps to keep the speeds down. The town two towns south of me reportedly brings in the most ticket revenue of any town in VA!!

A slide rule was what I used also during school and together with the log tables is what I used for design of bridges and other projects. Still have it. Using a calculator felt like cheating in the beginning. Not sure anyone knows how to use a slide rule anymore

I know I don’t remember. Haven’t used one since the 70’s would be my guess.

36F and cloudy @ 13:00, heading up to a high of only 38F today.

Yesterday did not turn out like I planned or had hoped for ... so I pretty much got nothing on my list done.

Except for getting a measurement taken of the length of of the wall in the family/rec room in the basement. Which I probably should do again, since I seem a little foggy on it now.

Otherwise I spent most of the day working on the dahlia tubers, cleaning and trimming them up, dusting with sulphur, and getting them packed away in boxes in sawdust and stuck out in the garage.

Got more than half of them done. Also pulled down the gladiolus corms from the top of the cabinet in the kitchen and had a look at those. They are ready to be processed and put away.

Apparently The Woman would like Her Kitchen back ... ;)

So getting that all finished up will definitely be on the menu for today.

The upside was that I also helped The Woman as She started going through stuff in the kitchen and sorting it out on a what to keep/what to get rid of basis.

Pretty sure we do not actually need 3 garlic presses ...

I did manage to watch a YouTube of some old boy replacing a rotted out sill plate and header on one of his rental houses which I also shared with her to lessen the "OMIGAWD, our house is falling down" factor ... :p

Didn't seem to bad: he used a 4 ton HF portable-power (on clearance currently for $149) to jack up the floor joists and shim them so he could pull out the rotten members. I figure we're lucky as we have a full basement. He only had a crawl space.

In any event, that repair will not happen until nicer weather returns.

She's off this afternoon to go get blood drawn for some blood work and drop off some Amazon returns over at Kohl's.

I'll use the time while She's gone to sneak down and feed the fishies and pop out to refill the hopper feeder.

Need to order the rest of the items I was holding off on from Menards (12-2 romex, roll insulation)

Will likely run up there tomorrow and pick up those orders as the weather is supposed to be a little nicer (42F and partly sunny)

Otherwise back to working in the basement, maybe get that Delta chop saw hauled down from the garage.

Hope everyone has a great Monday ... (y)

Tried to wash a load now the washer keeps tripping the breaker. Tried another plug, same thing. I did not touch anything electrical, a mystery.
